Announcing... RiffMasters!

That is what I have done in the past to make noise,, but it will still fall off easily.
I have not given up yet, but I have only stayed in standard tuning so far.

But I assure you I am not a slide player
I get it, I am not either and am amazed at those that are really good at it. I have a similar problem with finding something that will fit on finger but the pinky so I kept making screeching horrific noises until I got the take I did and called it a day. :ROFLMAO:

Slide is not something I practice often, maybe a couple times a year - can't even call that practice, it's just dickin'
Never tried to record it before. Didn't retune, just muted what I didn't want to hear as best I could,
My copper pipe fitting slide just barely hits six strings anyway. But, it might be large enough inside for many of
you fellas looking for a larger size. I glued a small piece of yoga mat to the inside of mine, grips my finger nice.
I'm sure slide people get into all kinds of tone arguments metal vs glass, diameter etc.
I recall seeing a fella do a passable job at it once at a jam with a bic lighter. At least I thought it was half ok for
what it was. Probably super cringe for a real slide player

I felt I did ok without having to put a screwdriver under anything, but probably would have been better that way,
I wasn't committed enough LOL! I just went with a lighter touch, I felt the lighter touch worked better for me for
what I needed rather than getting aggressive - that just seemed to create a lot of unrecognizable noise

I am in the same situation as @TVvoodoo
I have left the guitar in standard tuning and tried to make a play on the notes that sound like I know what I’m doing,, but so far not so good.
And after I record the submission, it will just get put it back in the bag.

I've got that fake Tele kit guitar I bought cheap and did a refinish job on the body. Whether or not I get anything posted, I'm thinking of making that my "slide" guitar. Raise the saddles. Reset the intonation. Pick a tuning and have it ready to go when the urge hits. Especially since it's the guitar I generally play the least.

I have dicked around with a beer bottle onstage. Not very accurate but a fun showpiece.

For the record to you fellows having some trouble with slide ...I've been doing it since the '90s so it's not an overnight thing. I've dabbled in it but never "took on slide" guitar so to speak. After so much time goes by even hitting it every few years for something like this (which is about what it amounts to), makes you at least able to "get by" with a little slightly half ass fret banging number like it did.

I’ve been playing guitar since 1973….. and it’s still a work in progress.
