Announcing... RiffMasters!

Here you are boys and girls. The culmination of many months of challenges coming from the demented mind of our very own @TVvoodoo . Congrats to everyone that contributed. Seemed like a good time was had by all. As always. If a discrepancy in the points are found or points were missed, please call 1-800-Who-Cares.

Yours truly, Final Tally Boy @iblive

As I sit here going through a HUGE pile of mail I never opened, I'm wondering why NO ONE did JUNK MAIL as a Modern Problem. HOLY
F @ ( I< !!! Between Amazon boxes/ packages and JUNK MAIL, I could LITERALLY build a hobo's DREAM MANSION. It might not seem like a problem but, you can't just throw this stuff out. You GOTTA shred baby shred, like you were pulled up on stage with Metallica at MSG and handed a guitar.(Back in the 80s, of course)
These days one can never be too careful when it comes to identity theft, and, well, G'DAMN, there's ANOTHER Modern Problem. As I write this it seems this mental origami is unfolding to expose an albums worth of modern problems. :ROFLMAO:

And now "junk mail" is even making it into our email and lately even been getting junk texts. Block and delete.

Congratulations @Ku² you truly did the kind of things real artists do, came through the game with plenty of personality,
but always presented work without compromise, with polish and thought behind it. You never gave up, never gave in,
That's why you sit on the top.

But really folks, I'm proud of all of you. Mitch who battled like a warrior in duels, and if he lost, forced competitors to work hard to win.
Sapient, if he could have kept up his pace and fire of the first few rounds, RVM who also brought plenty of fire and high production values,
sticking with it to the end. Jethro, who should have been in the P-house if he didn't have so many house chores. Aynirar, who demonstrated
great humour, and really threw himself in for it, had serious momentum and was real threat until he fell off near the end.
Ibmorjam, Frosty and BFT who have developed styles of all their own and stayed true to themselves, thatbastardon also should have scored higher,
but chose to watch from the sidelines far too often, Liveevil and C-grin, who's raw talent, good humour and jovial attitudes really made parts
of this adventure a joy for us all - Liveevil in particular who seemed to tap into production/arrangement super powers he didn't even know he had,
and leaves head held high with the highest number of top three placings, by a convincing margin.
And of course, all the rest who took the time to jump in to show us what they could do.

With only a few small personality hiccups, I do thank everyone for keeping RiffMasters overwhelmingly light and fun, and for widely showing support for
each other. A great variety of people and skills on display here, we got to know each other a little better. So pleased to have been able to offer up
and share this experience with y'alls, and for your trust, faith and assistance to help me keep this ramshackle train on the rails.

Above all, for RiffMasters @frostyjr2 @Oldiemurphy @Mouse @Randy Van Malmsteen @Ku² and @Aynirar27 we welcome you to TTR and I know
I can speak for all of the "legacy" members in hoping each of you stick around long term and continue to share your music/ gear journey with us!

I found my desire to play went up and down. I had plenty of time for every challenge, easily, but sometimes one's motivation is down. I actually don't have tons of household stuff to do. Part of it is the missus foot she twisted in June, had a ligamnent injury she is still nursing. I just didn't feel overly creative often.
It was fun tho and pushed my musical areas.
Good stuff, twas.

Congratulations to all the players!!! And a big THANK YOU!!! To @TVvoodoo !
Like a couple of others, I had my creative ebbing and flowing through the past year. I found myself focusing on some home stuff a bit more…projects that I had put off for too long etc. So I pulled back from the gaming to do some other stuff. But it was fun to watch and listen throughout! Thanks to all that put their stuff out there!

It was fascinating to hear the diversity of results for each project. In my case I've had the software & skills to create for quite some time, but just never did. Most of my musical career was playing live; where the notes are gone with the wind after the gig.
So if anyone asks, we all have a few things we can play for them. I'll adjust some of my examples for broader general appeal, something I could play for anyone (stripping out controversial elements that are a little more edgy than my age might suggest). But at least if someone is curious? OK... here's 8 very different & semi-current examples showing anyone who's curious about I'm capable of.
A lot of musicians are simps to gear... I worked in music stores for quite some time while playing live on weekends. So we had many regulars that spent decades having fellowship with other players by hanging out at the store, but without tangible, unequivocal evidence of their musical ability. They were waiting for that magical piece of gear that would finally inspire them to actually record some songs...
Being a "safe space" for musical expression here is quite unique. Similar to visual arts, there's plenty of subjectivity to it... ( I worked in graphic design at a high level for a long time) and in that field, there plenty of potential for passive aggressiveness over what is acceptable/professional etc. So I applaud everyone for realizing that much like in nature itself, everyone can only try their best at a given point in time, and within the constraints of modern life that we're uniquely bound to.
Take care everyone - RVM

Gear, from basic to elite, I am still not quite there but I have enough to work with. I started like so many on audacity about 12 years ago I bought a Roland quadcapture. Later I bought line 6 pod.

Like my buddy Mouse i only came in for the latter half of the challenge, and also experienced some difficulty
keeping my hand in due to that thing i've heard some folks refer to as 'real life', but it was definitely fun and
i'm definitely grateful for the warm welcome despite my fondness for the jazzy and the weird, LOL.
i'll be around, no worries!

Your presence here has been a welcome addition. Kinda a counter point to the head bangers we have.
