Announcing... RiffMasters!

@Mitch Pearrow SJMP

Be not afraid! You are actually pretty much the poster-boy for RiffMasters. Much of this is designed for a situation like yours.

Truth to tell, there are a number of challenges where it will be handy to have more than a simple i-phone to be competitive, BUT, there is no requirement for anyone to complete every challenge. And even if you drop a bare-bones attempt at any challenge, you will still earn the minimum points, and cannot be expelled. Simply dip in for the ones you feel confident you can tackle

Are there not several multi-track programs available for Iphones? Even a simple looper pedal gives you a ton of power

I guarantee anyone worried about scoring low, understand I have gone to great lengths to weight the points system fairly for all players and
the Guitar Duels are a huge part of opportunities to equalize the game - everybody will have chances to participate, contribute to the action
and guitar-man camaraderie, and just plain have fun playing guitar.

If you opt out of registering, you lose the chance at any Guitar Duel points, which will be significant. This part of the game is designed to
keep it competitive and entertaining for players of all situations, skill levels. No fancy rigs are required for the guitar duels, or anything really.

Anyone who finds themselves left in the dust will find themselves showered with insane chances to turbo boost their scores via the duels.
There are well over 140 points waiting to be earned in the guitar duels alone!

I also anticipate there will be some extra strategies involved in this game I haven't even thought of. It's kind of experimental at this point.
I'm still adding ideas.

For me to record anything I have to use my phone, I am unable to multi track anything, because I am only one device.
I am going to follow the thread..
And to save face with all my friends here, I will do my best, sign me up.
I have to back track this thread to find the registration form.

Gotcha in Mitch. There is still a whole week before things officially begin.
This game is much more fun with a wide range of people in it. Variety is the spice as they say.

BTW, there are multi-track apps for your Iphone I think. Learn yerself some new tricks ya old dog!

If you are lucky, @Clockworkmike foolishly decides to come at you, bro!
He then chooses the a mystery box that allows you to easily show him the whatfor and earn yourself
an almost insurmountable lead. All before the first main challenge is even over!

Could happen! But pretty sure Mikey ain't gonna just roll over too easy for ya, IYKWIM
The tools of the duels, lie hiding in secret inside those magical mystery boxes! I wonder whats in there?

By The way, I am disqualifying myself from picking a box fora Guitar Duel, as I alone know what lies behind.
But, if it so happens when it's my turn to challenge, I will allow my combatant to choose the box.
Pretty sure my vote count will keep me well within the challenge range by others, so bring it, ya chumps!

@LiveeviL2000 it was great wasn't it? Yours was respectable too!

No there are no plans for Rap, but if we need to go to extra innings perhaps. Looking through the genre list
there are plenty of old school and new school riff rock, and surprises too. Don't want to give it away.

No rap, no dance numbers or house type stuff. Lots of rock, - it's built to cater to the general crowd here,
but also expect your current guitar playing and riffcraft to be stretched in new and interesting ways

Thinking of the reactions once some of these challenges are revealed, might go a little like this

Then, once we get submissions back in competition for the RiffMaster points, it's probably gonna go like this

I think the best artistic content remains locked up inside y'alls.
It's my aim to drag it out of you, even while it's kicking and screaming

Once again, all 10 main RiffMaster Challenges will be open to all TTR members -as casual drop-ins at any time over months and months of fun ahead. I expect some will be inspired to take part in select rounds if only for the pure musical challenge of it all, and the forum fellowship.

No points will be lost, no game ejections etc. by anyone choosing to sit out any of the 10 main challenges.

But if you want to give yourself an easier climb up the ladder the between "Busker" and "Superstar," being pre-registered for the
Guitar Duels gives you additional shots to earn extra points when you really need them, a deeper level of game participation, and much more fun. Even if you find yourself on the losing end of a challenge, but gave it an honest go, you'll still earn points!

But beware, you may get challenged and find yourself considering running away!

Almost all of main RiffMaster Challenges will be in a rock 'n roll flavored vein, but you can expect some fun interesting twists.
It will be a test of your musical ear, creativity and interpretation to win over the TTR audience for the votes, and the points.

I anticipate everyone will need to stretch a little bit, to reach outside the personal comfort zone... but in all good ways.

RiffMasters Main Challenge board preview.jpg

I am still figuring exactly how we will score the main RiffMaster challenges, because I don't want to make this too easy for our most musically skilled and adept competitors. If nobody runs away with it, it remains fun and competitive for all. But, once votes are tallied after each of the 10 main endeavors, expect a nice point gain for top vote, slightly less rewards for positions #2 and #3, and still very worthwhile rewards for the efforts put in by ALL others. There will be NO bottom dwellers sitting alone, they'll always remain the largest group after each challenge.

The exciting Guitar Duels between players with the lowest points, gives them chances to escape the basement, and avoid further pesky challenges.

I do strongly suggest you mark this thread with a "WATCH" so you won't miss any deets coming up.

I also should note, if you wish to reach out to folks on other forums to rope them in, I am hoping
this event can help recruit one or two, or more new warm contributor bodies for the TTR clan.
Please feel free to link to any of the images I am putting up, to get them interested.

I will start off each TTR Member who can recruit someone new into TTR 3 POINTS for each recruitment,
as well as 3 game points for any brand new TTR member when they pre-register for RiffMasters.
