Announcing... RiffMasters!

You guys don't have to go. Just don't try offing me. :ROFLMAO:

You'll probably be happy to know I'm not really feeling this round. I LOVE creating music, but I much prefer creating my own scores to recreating someone else's. I'm on day 12 of my fast, (they should call it a slow as the days seem to be going by a lot slower), and though I'm not a tree hugging hippy, I would much prefer being outside in nature to being ku-ped up inside in my Living Room/Recording Studio. The days of bearable weather in NY are numbered.
Maybe something will spark a fire under my ass to get this next challenge started. Just not feelin' it.
Who ever feels it?? I'm just in it for 'Voodoo's responses and marketing materiel.

:D

Here my take on Eye of the Tiger, just feels like I'm putting lipstick on a pig.
I upped the tempo and gave it more crunch. The bass and galloping guitar in the background reminds me of kiss during their disco phase.
I didn’t do any vox because I have a hellacious cough that won’t stop for the past couple of weeks.
I wanted to do more, but I just don’t have the energy right now.
I used the following.
Jackson King V with Duncan distortions and Epi 58 goth explorer with Fishman Fluence moderns for the main riffs.
The gallop is my BCR Kerry King Warlock with stock pups.
Bass is my trusty Ibanez 605
All through various presets on my HX Stomp ... and yes I used Beast Mode!
Mixed in reaper
If anyone is brave enough to want to do the vox on this let me know and I can send you the file.
Or maybe I could try to contact Dave Bickler and do an eye of the tiger / real men of genius mashup
Here is Metal Eye of the Tiger. Enjoy~
Nice!! I could never gallop pick that long. Wow. I kinda ragged my high end last night but I can try this in a bit on vocal. You may be through with me though so I dunno what you think. Lol.

OMG….I think I’ve finally found the one….not completely sure yet….I mean…it’s not anything that I had ever entertained any ideas about…doing anything with….other than shutting it off.
I should be clear…I (apparently) may be a bit of a masochist here…with my 80s Pop challenge reservation for:

Don’t Worry, Be Happy.

(I respectfully reserve the right to change my mind about this.)

You should go for it man. That was my original choice because I had worked out a solo fingerstyle version of it years ago, but I kinda felt like it would be more fun to challenge myself with something new to me

Just looked at(and listened to) a tab for it…for the first time…I find the Songsterr app useful for that sort of thing. Played through it with my acoustic(I could see it being a fun campfire tune, actually)….thinking of appropriate arrangements/key/tempo/etc. I had some ideas pretty quick, when I was surfing the list of eligible songs, and looked at the original music video. I’m living in D standard/drop C tunings lately, so it should work out alright…I guess. We’ll see if it manifests in reality… as well as it does in my imagination. :dood: :rolf::cheers:
