38 Years a Strat!!! How about you?

If you look where my forearm rests, there is a wound. In 1989, I threw a lighter across the room..... it miraculously went thru a one inch gap at the door way, and into the room where my guitar was. I heard impact. I went in to see the damage....NOOOOOO!!

IF you look close, you can see that it's the flint wheel of the lighter that struck the guitar. It's funny now, but I was upset for the first 31 years or so. I'm over it now. :D:ROFLMAO:

I am also a member of the 83/84 two knob Strat club...I picked mine up in 1988, and played through the frets in 2001. It has sported this “Blackmore style” scalloped neck since 2001....

....and....yes....the bar is on a studio rack(by the Kemper) in the studio.

Gotta be honest Don....Yours is the best I've seen of that year/model .. unreal. That scalloped neck is sexy. I always wished i kept mine with the regular trem too.
Wow, ok...gonna go toss mine out the window.

Ummmmm....wow! Please don’t toss it? That would be very silly.(IMO)
Mine is so.....I dunno...I do love it dearly. I have made it known that my parting wish is to be burned with it when all is said and done.... I have written so many songs with that guitar...none of them any good, of course...

Exactly my wish with my 70's reissue Strat.
 
Robert's mom is likely one of the pioneers of women who played guitar professionally and had recording sessions studio work going on during the formative days of today's modern music and in conjunction with numerous famous players like Marty Stuart, Buck Owens etc..
I know the rough time frame of mom's career and can really say there were likely 100's of women vocalists across all genres. Add to that, the classical instrument players and performing arts talents. But, I would struggle to list many foundational women guitar players from the 40's through early 60's. Those I can name right off are Sister Tharpe, Mary Ford, maybe some of June Carter's family, June and Jean Millington of Fanny, Joan Baez of course. And of course one of my favorite and all time great 4 string slingers, Carol Kaye.

LOL I had to ask my Kathy for suggestions other than Baez for female FOLK guitar artists. from back in the day. Janice Ian, Judy Collins,
Of course all because of these ladies, we have the wonders of Nancy Wilson, Chrissy Hynde, Joan Jett, Lita Ford,

And today's ladies, Orianthi, Nikki Stringfield, Courtney Cox, Tal Wilkenfeld, etc. All owing a debt to ladies like Robert's mom and her contemporaries.

Mom was a frequent soloist at San Antonio's Keyhole Club.

 
1988 Charvel Model 1C & a Rockman I bought my senior year brand new. My GF was a freshman at Northern Michigan Univ. and we were living together, I left for the Army and when I came back from Basic & AIT she was with her old BF so I jumped back in my Trans Am and never looked back, not thinking of my stuff she had.
