@ smitty_p. On a side note, Any chance you'd like to listen to some Eminence Governors?
Oh, I’m not pushing Tesla or even EVs. But, I recognize the direction things are moving.
Did did you dislike something about Tesla or was there some “Wow” factor you were expecting?
I knew this.
The Tesla definitely has the acceleration and traction to impress. The sting is dismal at best, but I didn't care for how unreliable the cars were. I mean, with an 8 year warranty, who rely cares, bit the constant electrical issues, failed batteries, failed electric motors and failed electronic door handles.
I've never worked for a more unreliable car maker.
Yeah, I seem to recall hearing about some of that back then, too. I would imagine the technology has improved in the last nine years.
Of course, even early automobiles and engines had issues and difficulties when they were first being developed in the late 1800’s.
Guys who are still with Tesla tell me the reliability issues are still ultra high, but they are officially directed (now) not to post about or discuss the failures.
I've used Amsoil for twenty five years now. I even use it for my chainsaws bar oil. The 2000 Toyrota is well over 200,000 miles now and gets 100 put on it every day I go to work. Forty of that is on a low maintenance forest road. All gravel and boulders peaking up to annoy you. I change the oil once a year. Yeah, I'm lazy too.

Interesting, and it is consistent with an unofficial JD Power reliability statement for 2021 that rated Tesla 30th out of 33 manufacturers for reliability! But, that only speaks to Tesla as a manufacturer, not EVs as a concept. Tesla is the name everyone thinks of, but they are not the only player on the field, by any stretch of the imagination. Either way, for me, it doesn’t discourage me. The key is to give the development time to work out the kinks and for the prices to come down. Historically, that is the way these things go. There are hiccups and steps backward for some time, eventually things get worked out.
JD power is terrible for their reviews, If you are looking for unbiased reliability records., Consumers Reports is where you will find them..
Dude! I was driving my Prowler around today with the plow on it running over small trees I need to get rid of. You should try it! Very satisfying!BUt I like LEd Zeppelin ---
