NNGD...

Did I mention that the LP Classic Goldtop looked really nice, and has adjustable pickups.

I'm just sayin...
Back on topic...how can you go wrong with a gold top. Of course, a great choice!

Rumor has it, your getting an SG Junior!!

That is true, but don't tell anyone.

How much for the Classic?

The junior is US$1,580 at today's prices while the LP classic is US$1,738. But, at the weekend, the classic was about $150 cheaper - the prices change on a day to day basis, but the stores here don't haggle or discount (different culture...)

Oh, man, that goldtop! Hard to decide between that and the junior. Do you want two humbuckers or a P90? Both guitars are stunning. Have you played the Classic?

In person, the Goldtop, greeny and Sunburst 2017 Classics did nothing for me; I was surprised that I didn't even wanna play it - just didn't feel any bond towards it at all (I had however, rather stupidly, just been looking at the $4000+ Custom Shop LPs, so that might have had something to do with it). The P90 junior just seemed the standout guitar in every way - the only one in the shop I wanted to buy.

Well, that settles it. BUY THAT JUNIOR. NOW!

Funnily enough, I have just checked a shipping site, and something arrived at the local depot at 6pm last night... My time, it is 00:30, gotta go to bed for work, so I'll leave you with some music I was enjoying tonight: Fuzzbox.

(Don't be put off by the men! This is a punk band with an attitude...)

Later stuff:

Early, really early punk stuff:

Happy Birthday and Happy Imminent New Guitar Day!!
You said you currently have NO guitars?
Zero, zilch, nada?
No beater to play while you consider finer choices?
No sometime girlfriend or friend with benefits while you search for a Trophy Wife?

Damn man, that is just unthinkable for me; unless you are an active duty soldier or some similar situation.

Well, I do have an ugly tele (in my pic), but I have it at the office... At home, it's bare (10 minutes from the office); that will be changed within the next couple of days. I have cleared everything out, so when the wife comes home on Friday (we are in a temporary apartment and saving money...), she only sees one guitar and one amp. :D

I just noticed something funny. When I read this, your post count was 1107. At the same time my youngest kid was just done writing a school assignment. He finished at exactly 1107 words.:)

I'm getting all excited waiting to see what you end up with!

The SG Junior seems like a tempting buy for sure. Here's Phil X on why 1 pick up guitars sound so good. I think the P-90 pick up is a real winner. It's one of the most desired pick ups these days.

;>)/

Cant believe you haven't yet slapped the money on the barrel head for that junior. Are you sure you're feeling ok Mr Grumpy?? Cheers

Edit: Strike while the iron is hot my man, you know you'll regret it if someone else grabs it first. Cheers

SO---Phil X says --- unless your doing JAZZ---- take the neck pup OUT ----and make ALL GUITARS JUNIORS?????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cheers:

And higher action allows the string to ring out fully-----hhmmmm......this fellow is MAD I SAY!!!!!!!!!

Does it then matter that it is not adjustable? Because you do realize that that just might happen?:D

See you were not paying attention. They DO sell little gaskets that go under the pickup to help raise it higher.

Let's resolve this by you sending me the Jr. so that I can learn how wonderful a dog ear can be.

I would be more than happy to send mine to you (LP JP.), just understand one thing though.
The last time I sent a guitar out for a test ride the person (Adrien) ended up buying it after falling in love with it.
