NNGD...

I do not have an issue with anyone who finds a great guitar and loves the sound and buys it, whether it has dog ear pickups or kitchen magnets on popsicle sticks in it. This whole debate really started when esge took one of the guitars he had, which I love(d) and had been waiting for him to send me, and altered it from an adjustable P90 pickup to a dog ear for aesthetic purposes. That, from my practical and very selfish perspective, set me off!

Well, you know Adrian is really evil.

Im also crusading for the single dog ear debate to rival TONEWOOD as a bitter rivalry of EPIC yet friendly proportions--- as I believe it to be

plus I like to "poke the bear" ----it tis my mischievous nature ----:celebrate2::celebrate2::celebrate2::dood::dood::dood:

To be fair, you can buy shims for the dogears. No, not infinitely adjustable, but definitely a big help in adjusting for taste.

I did mention shims but, listening, recording, removing the strings, installing a shim, replacing the strings, comparing with recording and repeat if necessary is not a suitable alternative

I dunno. I helped a friend set up one of his guitars (a Casino) using the shims. It's a process, but you only have to do it once and it really wasn't that bad. Definitely made a marked difference in the tone of the guitar - totally worth the investment in time to him.

Let's resolve this by you sending me the Jr. so that I can learn how wonderful a dog ear can be.
In the interest of Parlay --- I refuse to acquiesce to your request ;) You are however welcome to come hang out in the swamp farm and play all day --- bring rum ;)

It is funny I have recently had 3 different-- skilled musician/luthier types come visit the zoo and play with my toys---- and to a ONE -- with all the "collective" at their disposal the LP JR 100 DogEar is the favorite---- chosen as number 1 --- over ALL other 2 and 3 pup configuration beasties....

And these cats KNOW guitars-- know tone--- and know how to play ---

poke

Mr. Grumpy needs to show us the SG Junior that he should have by now...

Did I mention that the LP Classic Goldtop looked really nice, and has adjustable pickups.
