This is Why I'm So Happy This Forum Was Created...

...take a look at this thread and the way a moderator abuses a forum members new guitar. Then observe how he throws his weight around for the entire thread. Then he bans a member and finally closes the thread...what a TOTAL A$$...

And equally accommodating on his own forum:

If he actually knows anything about the guitar, besides what it isn't, he doesn't share. Maybe I just don't get his sense of humor.

Hat off - after all, it is Friday.
And this my fellow members is why RVA is on the admin team.

Wow, 6 pages of this stuff, I'm banned from Harmony Central for defending myself against a former idiot member of ETSG that didn't know jack about anything music related and thought forums were a social event to do nothing but make stupid comments, I eventually banned her. She started bashing me and the forum, she made the mistake of making a typo about how she was gonna "take the train out of the forum" but instead wrote she wanted to be A TRAIN OUT OF THERE.......of course I had to jump on that and retort with "I don't think you'll have any takers" next thing I know I had every moderator on there giving me crap and eventually banning me. People hear only hear what they want to hear and if you say something that goes against their grain...."POOF" you're gone. I know I'm new here, but wanted to share that (I have more, believe me.) Point is, it's not so much what you say, it's who you say it to.

BTW, if anyone is interested, I have a 1935 Chibson PAF with purple coils that came out of a Guild Stratocaster that was owned by Marshal Dillon during the Civil War....asking $100,000 PayPal only. :p

Welcome Mr. Weasel! I'm glad you accepted my invitation and made it here.

The issue of "counterfeits" is thorny for me. I see a guitar that says Fender on the headstock, I want it to be a Fender. If I buy a new Stratocaster for $199, I'm smart enough to know it's a counterfeit. On the other hand, I see the real workmanship that goes into to some of these and think of the person trying to support their family on less than I spend on coffee and I can't begrudge them the little dough they get. We also need to distinguish these makers from the "forgers" who buy a new $900 Les Paul and turn it into a 54, to sell for beaucoup thousands on Ebay. I hope we're all grown up enough to discuss just about anything, but I hope for a lot unlikely crap.

I am not intending to offer any God-like or Opinion of a person of authority type message here, but On a serious note in relation to a similar Faking type incident I experienced via ebay, I will relay a story.

In the early 2000's I learned to use ebay to buy drums and guitars. I had a number of crooked sellers and a number of quite honest ones.
Well, my incident arose on a drum kit I was selling on ebay. I forgot if I had already sold the drums or simply pulled the ad for lack of interest etc.
One day I was hunting for drum gear and almost sh'd myself as I was staring at the clone of my ad I had previously run.

It was my exact wording, pictures, terms etc all down to everything but the initial asking price, and of course the drums, cymbals, stands etc themselves.
Back in these days one could see who ebayers were and get their contact info. As the honest ebayer I am, I not only notified ebay the ad was bogus, I also emailed as many of the members who were on the Bid list to tell them DO NOT send any money to anyone for the drums in that auction. The seller was a con.

All I could say after that was it was a good thing I was home and looking that day so those innocent bidders would not have lost their money in a scam.
