Thanks! U-Pol spray can. It is used by auto guys for small jobs and has gotten great reviews, which I can confirm as this is my second guitar on which I use it. It was recommended to me by a guitar builder

I am not sure how much to apply. I will do at least one more day (about 2 full spray coats per day)

My only experience with it, is from the 80's in wood shop twice a week. I made an SG, and each class I would ad another coat....not enough, ad another coat.....not enough....another class, another coat and so on....still needs more...

Natural back and medium dark top is perfect.

Thanks! I sanded the top bare and re-stained it. Whatever was on there was more like shoe polish than stain. I took a risk of burning through thr veneer, but it worked out!

Yikes. If you read the reviews, this is a particularly "smelly" (toxic?) spray. I am doing it in a garage with an open door at least.
