Because he wants you to default to quiet for the new neighbor so he doesn't get sued. ;)

No. I'm saying he may have tried to clear things up with you so that the new people taking over his house get a smooth experience form the get-go. Otherwise if you "annoy" the new neighbors it may result in a beef between him and them: "You didn't tell me there was ...noise here". Get it?

It’s an apartment complex. So I don’t think that’s the case
