If anyone chooses to install the device this way, here is a hot-neutral-ground ID. The smaller slot is the hot.

Could you also attach it to the prongs of the plug that gets inserted into the wall outlet? That would be the easliest downstream point.

I'm not sure I'm reading you right here. do you mean to leave it hanging outside the box, literally attached to the prongs of a plug? That would be dangerous

Yes I did. Insulating it would be the next obstacle, but I think I see your point.

Nope, that would be a valuable thing to plug into a strip.
Ok, so just to be clear, I can wire the device into the plug and then the plug into the first outlet of the power strip? Is that Ok? This way I can "grab and go" with a device and take it where necessary.

RVA, the soldering flux residue on your connections is driving me crazy. Please, tell me you cleaned it off after this pic was taken.

Looks great!
OK, first, it is a little sloppier than usual because they were do-overs. Second, the solder I am using is rosin core of course, buy contains WAY TOO MUCH FLUX. It even creates problems with adherence. I will never use it again, but opted not to toss it out and use what I have. So because it comes from within the solder itself, I cannot control or clean it. I did not use any additional flux.

I use a cotton swap soaked in denatured alcohol, or a blast of electronics cleaner to clean the flux residue away after the joint cools.

I'm just bustin' on ya, a bit!
