Announcing... RiffMasters!

Also, not to set anyone in a panic, but the criteria for the Top of The Pops #1 60's Hits
challenge is that your song actually did make #1 status on the USA Billboard Top 100 list
that I supplied a link to.

If your choice does NOT appear on the list, your submission could be disqualimafied.
HERE'S THAT LIST AGAIN

Are YOU a real cool head? Are you makin' REAL GOOD bread? Doesn't Brian Wilson look a lot like a young Alec Baldwin?

While you enjoy that absolutely disgraceful ode to shameless male tomcattin’ by the Beach Boys, consider the many great tunes from way back in the olden days. What began in the 50’s, a youthful push-back against societal conventions continued to ramp up for the whole next decade, eventually becoming a full-scale social revolution! Songs alluding to sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll topped the charts all through the 1960s - naughty, often illegal anti-establishment themes often couched in innuendo or hidden meaning. Some songs seemed innocent enough, such as “Day Tripper” or “Please Please Me,” but for those hip to the scene, rather shocking druggie or sexual undertones needed no spelling out for clued-in listeners of the day.

Your challenge for Main Event #4 is to:
Choose any #1 song from the 1960’s and redo it for us, however you wish.
Cover it faithfully, country it up, metal it, do what thou whilst.
Let your creative freak flag fly for all to see, have fun, and win them points!

However, let’s also make it a goal to accentuate any secrets hidden within your choice. Flavour it up a little for modern times.
If it’s a little dark, make it darker. If it’s a little sexy, make it sexier, etc. This is where your selection is SUPER important.
Give yourself something cool to work with, as that will be a main criteria for judging.

LAND RUSH!!!
Repeats would be lame, so... this is first come, first served! Therefore, you MUST stake your claim by posting the title of your chosen hit as quickly as you can here in this thread. This to keep your pesky Riffmaster competitors off your musical stake! Repeats will be viewed as very bad mojo, resulting in disqualification from voting.
If you wish to try to keep it a secret, go ahead and take your chances, but that’s a risky play. Plus, it’ll be great fun knowing what songs y’all be tweaking!

I'm a helpful dude. Here’s a handy link to all the Billboard #1 hits of the decade. There's many to choose from, pick wisely!
Some of you weren't even born yet, some maybe a little before. Me? I'm a 1966 baby, definitely gold in them thar hills!
