Announcing... RiffMasters!

Hi Bros,

Here's my punk submission. Ready to Go.mp3

After dinner tonight, I wrote words, music, and tracked it all in one sitting. And it likely sounds like it.:pound-hand:

I think of punk being a British thing (so lyrics reflect that as you'll see). I thought about finding a dog bark sample - but didn't want to spend the time so just did the barking myself by breathing backwards quickly. I wonder if dogs actually bark this way.

The term "Ready to go" stuck in my mind after a meeting last Friday after an exhausting week. Someone said: "OK everyone, are we ready to go?" in a motivational capacity. I quipped, "yep... we're ready to go..." which of course has a double meaning. So that's the genesis of this idea. Then I added some other wordplay in the lyrics to amuse myself, and perhaps you enjoy that too.

Lyrics:

Go!
Ready to go
Ready to go
Ready to go go go go

Spent 3 weeks, Royal Navy
I found the ship much too wavy
kicked me out for good behavior
My land mates were my savior!
Ready to go
Ready to go
Ready to go
Ready to go go go go

Worked 3 days, dog catcher
Got laid off by Margaret Thatcher
Got quite cagey can't you see
Margie's doggin' me! (Arf Arf)
Ready to go!
Ready to go!
Ready to go!
Ready to go go go go

Met new boss... staff meeting
What a dick!... from the greeting
He asked us are we ready to go
We said "yes we are!"
Ready to go! (Ready to go)
Ready to go! (Ready to go)
Ready to go! (Ready to go)
Ready to go go go go

Wow! Very cleanly done! Nice job!

Despite my small concern any true punk could be ejected from anything due to good behavior... I suppose there's fun in the irony to be found there. And, no guitar solo! Proper punk form!

RVM brings it again. This time with lyrics, special vox FX and bits of other clevernesses. Confident, cheeky and catchy! The extro chorus really shines with the call and answer harmony.

Looks like in regards to becoming a RiffMasters force, new TTR member @Randy Van Malmsteen is indeed proving himself "Ready To Go!"

RVM claws his way onto the scoreboard with a single Punk bonus point.

Negative option rule says RVH is on the duel list.

Put my ear to the tracks, still can't hear no tell of no approaching train as hinted at by ibmorjamn.
Donnie Dagger got something in before deadline, 'Ol Mitchie's still rockin' steady, and we welcome new TTR member and fellow RiffMaster busker Randy Van Malmsteen

I think this point total is correct with RVM just added to the lineup.
Is it weird that I want to see duels happen between certain members? I can see some really cool matchups on this list.
If there are points missing, please let me know ... (let me know=check payable to liveevil2000 care of TTR)

@LiveeviL2000 Mitch needs one more, he punk'd and tapped, plus 2 folk entries

In regards to duels we wanna see... I have matchups I'm imagining, particularly me against... Hell, none of you!
C-grin scares me, Ku-kucabra is plain loony, the new guy seems real thirsty... sapient has many hidden tricks up his sleeve I'll bet. Jethro, donnie very musical and skilled. Barbarian Bob? Fugeddaboudit! But I won't be tuckin' if/when the time comes. Chicks dig scars.

My aim is to stay just enough off the bottom of rhe scoreboard so I can enjoy all the glorious sweat, spit and blood from ringside

If he gets that opening act entry in, he is in the middle of the RiffMasters mosh pit with the rest of us.
