Announcing... RiffMasters!

That is awesome! No announcement, no talk. Just plugs in, and blows the doors off. A drop the mic post!!
AND he's already known as "RVM"!! This guy only knows 2 things. How to chew bubblegum and kick a$$ ... and he's all out of bubblegum!
Great entry!

@Randy Van Malmsteen enters the room. Drops a rhythm tone chunkier and dirtier than 1972 Mama Cass. Picks a sad, sweet, familiar melody to it, that makes me look at my thermometer here a -21, and has me also California Dreamin'. Then, if that weren't badass enough, while all our jaws are dropped and we stand here looking at each other in shock, he casually swoops behind the bar, grabs a bottle of lemon gin, the two hottest gals in the room, and swaggers out the door with one swinging off each arm.

That was... quite wonderful Mr. RVM! - I look forward to seeing possibly come up to the vote in a few days time. Welcome to RiffMasters!
You can also gain 3 extra points for Folking up a Rock song, as well as a single point dropping 1:00 of solid punk madness before Thursday night.

At this time I ask of you specifically... RiffMasters has a guitar duel system to level the playing field. Lowest two scores at the beginning of each next round embark upon a "Guitar Duel" of a surprise themed challenge which will be voted on. You very well may be involved due to your score next round, but... you can opt out of that program if you wish. There are many surprise extra points available to boost duel participant scores, and I think so far everyone who has been involved in our two duels so far have had a great time, and no visible scars from the ordeal.

RE: BLIND VOTE

Can confirm there was an effort to game the last Game of Toanz voting in a way that I, and others felt was rather unsportsmanlike.
There will be at least two OPEN Main Event poll votes in RiffMasters, just to shake things up... without warning, of course. So be ready.

Despite what I know of most of you already, (LOL!) I trust you will carry yourselves in a gentlemanly and moral manner at least as far as
RiffMasters goes. There are no prizes. No money to be won. Risking to rig a vote in your favour, (and it will be found out) will most certainly result in what earlier in this thread was referred to as "butthurtedness" for you, and your fellow forumites. Bad place to go, so just don't.

ONLY THREE SLEEPS UNTIL VOTE NIGHT MY BROTHERS!

@Thatbastarddon that blows the dust off an old Rush tune and his antique kazoo for a strangely heartfelt, possibly self-reflective sincere piece about working Too. Damn. Hard! Really nicely recorded, great tone and vox. Wish it was as long as the Rush original!

Great approach to a song that really stands the test of time, those nagging universal truths again... wonderful song choice

Donnie Dagger in for his first folk-up... might we be blessed with another over the next few days?

Went over the last two entries with better headphones...

- @Randy Van Malmsteen s submission... upon second listen i was really digging the drums... great kick tone, and the move to quarters then eighths in the choruses really help build it up...
Then those triplets in the solo? Cool! Seems to be some subtle vocal harmony going on in particular places, all reverby but almost buried deep in the mix

For @Thatbastarddon ...your acoustic guitar tones are is just super on my headphones... so full and lush! I didn't even miss the lava lamp. ok, maybe a little bit. Your old kazoo does seem to be losing its "kazoo-ness" a little bit. As a kid I recall refreshing our kazoos with a new small circle of wax paper, might make a big difference... but then that only serves opens up a heated argument about vintage kazoos and if serious mods or upgrades would serve to destroy value and whatnot...

I do suggest these submissions, actually ALL RiffMaster entries be enjoyed with good set of earpieces on. You might be missing some important detail
