Still no snow here

My view out my bedroom window this morning. Headed for the deep freeze (for Illinois anyway) tonight. Think we ended the storm with about 8”. Other places around us got more. My brother lives in western Illinois and they got blasted. Over a foot of snow and now it’s blowing. Roads closed. Like me. He’s happy to be retired.

The situation in Portland is that the ground was saturated from non stop rain then windy conditions that knocked down tees that fell on power lines. 160k people without power and it’s 14 degrees.
My daughter is in the middle of that mess. She lost power this afternoon. She and her roommate had to hoof it to a close store to charge up their phones and get a few power packs. I'm a bit nervous since it's so cold down there.

Rained this morning, then was sunny and 50 degrees. Tomorrow will only be in the mid thirties. They're predicting 50% chance of snow Tuesday. With all the rain we've had this week, the local reservoirs are quite high. We got almost 2" of rain last night. Glad it wasn't snow. We don't get any real snow in New England until February.
