You never fail to surprise!

It's rumblin' and a-gurglin'
Your face is turning white!
Time's runnin' out man
Something's gonna blow
There's a line up for the restroom
But you really GOTTA GO!

You gotta FIGHT! For your RIGHT!
To pawwwwww-TAYYYYY!!!!

serious? That might be way WAYYY better than a 3 pointer. Question is... what are you gonna do for the next four weeks?

Practice classical music, Jazz, Pop, 1920's swing, blue grass, etc... I figure those gotta come up sooner or later.

Somewhat by design we have created a safe space where it's ok to share musical musings and semi-throwaways, but also where extra effort will also earn bigger, more important votes.

Also, not being a genre snob, and/or being able to escape our own musical ruts even for a short time will be also rewarded.

We often don't know what we can accomplish until we make ourselves try. Much more fun to come in the next challenges, but also the supportive sharing atmosphere of TTR is a real key to RiffMasters moving forward. Let's keep that!

To be closer to perfect, I'd like to find a way to ease CONTRUCTIVE critique into RiffMasters, but somehow only after voting is over for each round... it would make us all better, but we all handle that information differently.

For most of us, it's hard enough just to put ourselves out there... maybe the next iteration of the game that may be added to a degree. Really it's still fully experimental, with emphasis on the mental.

For now let's keep it light and supportive, gentle teasing and braggadocio absolutely allowed.

I can't hardly wait to log in and find notifications of new material or supportive messages that might have been added. For myself, but more importantly, for others! It's all under the guise of a contest, but I can't see how anyone who jumps in the stream can see any offering into the game as a possible loss .

My first Main Event submission for "Folk'd Up" round two. An acoustic take on Megadeth - pales in comparison to what's already been offered for this go-round, but my goal was to get a stab in at the challenge this weekend to take a bit of pressure off me for later in the month.

One of my fave 80's metal songs. It's different! I like some parts, others make me cringe. Still fun though, and don't think I detracted too much from the general anti-war/tyrant spirit of the message... I hope!

I had a regular rock kit going, but super low velocity... high hats, snare and crash, but then I ditched it all in favour of a more stripped down cajon effect and cheezy shaker tapped out on my Yamaha keyboard, plus you know I love my tambo. Couldn't find my dang shaker egg! Had conga drums in it for a bit - that was interesting.

Not really sung, well kinda. This doesn't break any rules, vocals not required so semi-spoken word has to get a pass

I'm not one to be out drinking champagne on NYE LOL! Stiil about 30 min. before 2024 so this is my last recording of the year, and admittedly not a very fruitful one that way.

Hopefully this Riffmasters thing can help me be inspired, develop more comfort around recording and learn some new stuff too.

May 2024 treat us all better than we deserve LOL!

Loved it!!

Alright so I suck at real recording, don't understand that damn thing still all this time later and my patience with it is at the point the computer is getting ready to be skeeted in front of my 12 gauge. But, I got something anyways, for better or worse ( hey at least I didn't take a knee or punt this challenge even though it IS Folk and this has gotten the better of me, I'll admit lol)

Here we go, warts and all

Very nice, and again the punk sneer on the last one was amazing but you added folk face on this one (y)

I know @Kerry Brown is loading his six-stringed pistola for his official "Punk'd" Guitar Duel of Main Event #2

I'm hoping members @jtcnj and @Ku² are likewise now loading too or practicing their quick-draws.

Gentlemen, HALF of your available time has been used up. Only FIVE days remain for first shot to be fired! NO PRESSURE!

Let's spice the ante up.

If only one "official" duel submission drops, and goes unanswered by both other players, no vote required. Fair enough.

However, if any one or two of the challenged players fail to show up, the consolation points they would have
received will also go to the Guitar Duel Winner.

In this case the stakes are 14-7-7 (a whopping 28 total points available).

HOLY TOLEDO!!! Talk about incentive to finish! That's a ton of points.
I can't wait to see what punk attitude comes out of this group.
With a little less than a week left I know what that duel pressure cooker feels like.

As it stands now, with my bonus 3pt main challenge entry, I have a tenuous grasp of first place. But with so many points yet to be tallied I suspect I won't be up here for long!

@SG John stepped onto the field thumbing his nose at the man with his punk'd entry.

We have about 4 weeks left in this Folked Up round 2 challenge with 4 main event entries already logged in from 4 of the top 5 ranked RiffMasters.
@Thatbastarddon is undoubtedly out back playing with Sasquatch as his folking inspiration brews in his head.
@ibmorjamn , @Jethro Rocker, @BFT Gibson , @jtcnj , @Kerry Brown , @Ku² and @SG John still need to show us how folked up they really are.
There is even a rumor going around that @iblive might even join the fray since this folk thing is "All up in his wheelhouse".

and still the question remains, where in the folk are @LRT , @mcblink ... and can @Mitch Pearrow SJMP still be stuck in holiday traffic??
