o.k. I want this
marshalls3.jpg

I recognize that!
The guy who's house it is used to be on the other forum a long time ago.
Those are the marshalls.
There are Fenders and Voxes too.
I sent him a part from an old SG special once to help him with a restoration.
I forget his name.
He is well off.

Either that or he got the pics off the net and was sandbagging us...

If I can't find what I need under $900 to play at home & practice I shouldn't be playing.....plenty of Marshall's/Vox/Laney/Fenders in that range.

Although I answered in the $901-$1500 range, I agree with you. The only time I actually spent $ in that range was when I bought my Dual Rec. Sometimes an amp or a guitar comes along that just seems to be "worth it" at the time. My Laney AOR50 was one of those too. When I tried it out, I knew that I had to have it, and I still do(I did buy it new... in 1989-90 I think). It wasn't as expensive as the Mesa, but at the time it was expensive to me...and absolutely worth every penny.

I had an AOR50 combo when I 1st got back into playing. LOUD! I bought it and a Marshall 3203 head and really played that more so off it went as trade bait. By way a few a trades I was in a JCM2000 DSL50 and is where I should have stayed. Loved that amp with my SG. Going to move on from my JCM800 and maybe find a DSL or something else to play with.

A bunch of cheap asses on this thread. I can't believe no one else would spend at least $1500 of money they don't even have on a nice tube amp.

I voted in the $1500.00 valve amp category.

I'm cheap, too, but in a different way. Instead of getting cheap things, I wait and save a long time to get something.

But, I don't spend more than necessary and will look for deals.

I voted $ 401-600 even though I have a Marshall JVM that I do not regret. It took me time to realize that I do not seek natural breakup (even if it is lower wattage and I could get away with it in my home) and hybrids are a lot better than I initially thought

Smitty and I are of the same vein. Don't buy cheap junk much,, but save for the best within a reachable price range to save up to purchase.
