So Anyway...

So anyways… I just pulled the trigger for a Warmoth build. This will be with a Warmoth painted and finished body, and a Warmoth neck that doesn’t require a finish. ETA is about four months. I’ll create a new guitar day thread when the Warmoth order is about to ship.

WOW!!!! If your builds are 1/2 as good as your amplifiers, look out!!!!

@Don O

Look forward to the build thread. I recently added a Warmoth body and neck to my queue. That last build of the matching red 6 and 12 string took me 4 years to get around to starting the build.

Were planing a 3 day back woods camping trip I'm having flash backs of my brown bear attack Weatherby 338-378
saved my life at fresh water bay Alaska were going to Herbert Glacier last time ran into a 8'+ brown bear face to face
my German Shorthaired Pointer Ruby kept the bears attention away from me but the bear followed us 10 miles all the way
back to the van yes we have tried bear spray it's a joke they roll in it

So anyway… I placed my Warmoth body and neck order during the 24th week of this year. We’re at week 27 right now. According to Warmoth shipping estimates: Custom Body with paint/finish: 16-18 weeks. I can conclude, that at a minimum, the package might be ready by the first full week of October (week #40). I can also conclude…

So, you ever do something really stupid when working on your gear?..............

My Dean V79 I got about a year ago has a bad vol. pot. just a little dead spot when coming off 10.
Did not resolve with Faderlube and cycling the pot several / many times.

I had not played it in a few weeks (I've been on a strat and ...... Tele thing lately).
I figured I should get to it..... and afterwards quickly realized it was the Bridge vol pot that was bad, not the Neck vol pot I just replaced!!

I don't always do stupid, but when I do its Stuuoooopid.

I recently rewired a guitar three times, installing new pots, switch, cap, sanded bottom of bridge for better ground wire contact and still was getting an annoying hum. I knew for SURE it wasn't the output jack because how stupid simple is that?! Well, after all that it WAS a strand of wire that spanned across the negative to the positive connection on the jack. I could have saved a lot of time and frustration if I had just looked there.instead of assuming.

I have decided I MAY need to upgrade my reading/soldering glasses.

Well, sure those are way better. You obviously prefer to wire thing perfectly from the get go and forgo the rush of the soldering iron burn/blister.

So anyway, I haven't been around much lately because...well..wow what a year it's been., long story.. I think the worst is over, at least it's looking that way, *fingers crossed*, I'm hoping for a smooth ride the rest of the year *fingers crossed again*. Life has a funny way of slapping you in the face sometimes doesn't it? I'm babbling now, I'm dog ass tired and got a well deserved buzz going, so...I hope you are all doing well and maybe I'll see you around more. :cheers:
