So Anyway...

So anyway….
I just got smacked in the face by a G-string….

I was resetting the Stetsbar to float. The strings are a bit on the older side…but I was hoping to get the trem set up before changing them out, so that I wouldn’t have the wear of setting up the Stetsbar on the new set. Oh well….it’s most of the way there…new strings, a deep clean, and a setup on deck for this one…

Oh, and for the record…the string snapped right at the tuner post…I had too much room set for pulling pitch up at the time…about two and a half steps up were available. I was in the process of dialing it down. Live and learn.

So anyway...all that gear gone , the keepers are set up for plug n play in bandroom with mic's ready & closet has all the pre amps & computer in for iso booth. plus a JV strat somewhere and various speakers for mix layers & Jet City 20hv for that clear marshall jcm tone & death cab Marshall 4x12 w/ 5150 peavey up top & Emi Swamp Things on bottom the cab for thump & clarity & 2nd player can just bring amp head & plop right on. Kept my jensen speakers tho at 93 db so cool to compress, Just blown away by the TH30 & the shape knob..with so many ways to set amp 30 w 4 tubes..15 watt 4 tubes, 15 watt 2 tubes & 7 watt 2 tubes...what ya need is in there. The clean is so darn fendery with a tad more natural sparkle. Probably look for a Marshall 6100 one day again to sit on marshall cab . Other than that time to make music & looking for 64 Comet Or 55 Chevy to build soon. Not sure but want old one to drop something ridiculous in. Had a 1 year off music basically..got on the radio with some play & the work ethic just wasn't there. 1 more try & think if it doesn't get out by march..its time..just record songs from time to time to add to the personal library of madness,

So anyway....
I finally evicted my drummer today. The pandemic killed my band, pretty much. Long story short, we haven't really done anything together since February 2020, and one member is, pretty much, unable to perform anymore. I've been providing storage space for my bandmates gear, and the drums take the most space...by far. So....I finally broke down, and decided that it was time.

....a work in progress as I try to envision what I want/need to do for future enjoyment.
Sad though...

The place looks bare without the drum kit...

That's a pretty cool space! You will have fun decorating. From what I can see, it looks like you have more room for gear. Sorry to hear about your band.

Yeah too bad about band but nice to have kit out. Get another drummer or other player amd get back at er.
What a fantastic space! Like the Well-Hung banner too! We promoted one at our last show.

Sorry to hear about the demise of the band,, time to move forward.
Good luck with the upcoming adventure.

Thank you all. I’m looking forward to seeing how this all pans out. We haven’t played together in ages, and I am over that bump. I’m hoping to figure out a few things that may keep some alternative options open for the space, while still maintaining the playing/recording capabilities. Most of all, it gives me the chance to reclaim some furniture, and thoroughly clean up the joint.

Is this a basement? I wish our home had a basement! I guess that jack stand is a pretty important piece of furniture?
Yes…it is a walk-out basement in an embankment ranch…so, only half underground. The back wall, and ceiling (above the acoustic tiles) are heavily insulated, and the back wall “paneling” is about 1/2 inch thick. The nearest neighbor to the rear if the house(where most any loud sounds escape, as the structure performs much like a muted half shell) is a mile or two away, on the other side of the swamp/wildlife management area. The next door neighbors could hear us if they were out on their deck. They described it as if I had a radio on at my grill…not loudly…but if they were quiet enough, they could make out the song. It worked extremely well for me, and my needs.

Yeah, the “jack stands” are an unfortunate necessity.…

So anyway, week one of four is done here in Ost Allgäu. Heading to Freiburg in Breisgau tomorrow morning to visit my cousin. My wife is supposed to visit for the long weekend next week, and we‘ll probably head down to Innsbruck. Was thinking of spending the weekend in München, but hotels are expensive due to a Bayern München home game. I did bring a Strat in my suitcase.

My home until mid-November.

Over three years at my current job, and never had any relevant training. Finally at the factory getting two weeks of geometric and kinematic training on the five axis mills, then a week of tool magazines and pallet changers, then a week of new product training. Trying to make some good connections while I’m here.

A work paid trip to Europe??
Cha ching!

So anyway…..just thinking out loud tonight….I’ve been sensing an issue with the original speakers in that 1973 Kustom 4X12 for a couple of years now…perhaps I should load it with something cool, and wire it to be compatible with the 1960B? Been watching a few videos, and I think I’ve finally made up my mind. It will be a slightly different flavor from the stuff I have kicking around here…and a step away from the original CTS drivers. I personally found them to be pretty dark, even for me.

I’m stoked that the wheels fit well enough in the cups! The Laney belongs up there, really, but it is out of reach at the moment…so it’s the Mesa for the moment, and photo opportunity.
