Round 3 of exposure: this is getting really old

So today, for the 3rd time in less than a year, on the same exact damned jobsite: yet ANOTHER coworker came in today bringing their sickness in, without so much as an ounce of concern of others or common decency.

First time, was an idiot who gave it to me after showing up for 2 days with obvious symptoms Second time was another idiot who walked around the job for nearly a week before taking a test but luckily, the rest of us dodged it. Today, was yet one more genius who came in and felt like crap but didnt tell me until about 2pm and confirms it thru a test just 20mins ago. So now, once more, i get to play the 'Rona Roulette and wait and see.

Best part, is I just came back from vacation, took tons of precautions when i was away and tested following a few days home. Good to go. But the second that I SHOULD be cleared, BAM! Another round of worrying, while my family is freaking out and worried even more. Compound this with the fact that the company I work for is already up my ass pretty heavily about finishing an impossible deadline in 2 weeks, yet never gave me the help or manpower I requested. If it IS a positive? Im out for X amount of days and the deadline WILL be missed without question.

Bad enough that this issue has been hovering over me ( actually 3 jobs with bad deadlines and Im running all of them with just one helper), that it's lead me to honestly go to counseling and begin medication that I have reluctantly tried to avoid for years. But now, i get this to add to that misery and anguish, by worrying even more than usual

....screw it......

Someone say something funny and change the subject!

Yeah there's a lot of people who ignore the danger.
The people who won't wear masks / won't get vaccinated - are the ones who are the sickest....the ones who wind up worst in the hospital.

Most of the people I know who are sick and missing work are double vaxxed and boosted.

Our band was the only band in SoCal (that we know of) that could be booked during the pandemic. We played large, outdoor and indoor events, in "speakeasy" fashion, from March 2019 until May 29th 2021, and none of us ever got sick.

I only became ill in January 2022, after a visit with my vaccinated parents, who tested positive for Covid. I came down with flu-like symptoms, but with an extremely heightened sense of taste/smell, although i tested negative for Covid on 3 different test mediums at our Doctor's office.

I think it's a lot like how guys I served with in the military, got the flu vaccine, then spent time in the hospital after coming down with the flu.

There are no absolutes....

Welp...luck ran out on me this time. After 3 days of testing with a rapid on Thursday morning, an NAAT on Friday morning, a rapid on Saturday morning; I hit two positives this morning at 6am and again at 10am from two different brand of rapid tests.

Unfortunately this time, id say the rest of the family will most likely be joining the club. Worst of all, was my folks came over yesterday for about an hour, despite me warning them that I was still testing and quarantining and they have weakened immune systems. Hoping like hell that they dodge it somehow but all bets are off with this one being the most contagious to date.

Informed my company about it and they were a lot more understanding than when i initially warned them about the coworker testing positive. A bit of a poop storm is brewing now with the general contractor being utterly pissed off that the finish date will no doubt be missed now but, it is what it is ( they moved the completion date overnight from July 28 to July 15 , so screw them anyways)

So, gotta lot of down time now lol

Thank you my friend, I really do appreciate it! So far, its just been a nagging headache and a lil stuffy in the nose, scratchy throat a bit. Had a day where my body ached, kinda like having a bad sinus infection but so far, its been mild at best. So hopefully, that is all anyone else suffers if they do come across this sorry assed thing
