Round 3 of exposure: this is getting really old

I had 117 F in La Quinta last week, not trying to be too dog here, but I am getting sick of this damn heat
Good grief buddy lol

I know they say here all the time, that out west towards your way that " Well yeah its hot out west but it's a 'dry' heat!". 117°F is still 117°F anyway you slice it: wet or dry lol to put in perspective: most basic electronics are built to withstand 125°F before they begin to break down. That's pretty close to the fail point lol

We've had a slew of people get sick a second time. For me it's about anything to reduce the chance of it causing problems. I stay isolated, wear my mask and get the jabs. Am I immune? I'm under no illusions that I am, so I do what I is best.

Funny, for some they find that doing these steps are a moot point because it isn't iron clad evidence that it prevents bad things, and then clap their hands together and talk to a certain someone because it prevents bad things. :D

Absolutely! It's still very real and very much alive and not only well, but thriving. Are we at the same place when it began in terms of devastation? No,thankfully! But we still got a ways to go in keeping an eye on yourselves and each other. We can move around a little freer than before but still need to be on the defensive.

One day in time, it'll all be but an aggravating seasonal reminder. But we got some work left to do before then.
My 37 year old daughter has gotten it 3 times now, each worse than the previous. She's fully vaxxed and boosted.
I am so sorry about that...she's only a couple years younger than i am! Hopefully, something kickstarts in her system and can knock away this crap

FYI to all trolls, I do not have time to play games and ask you to play nicely with others. If you can't behave here, you do not belong here. End of story.
Wav don't play that game and ain't taking no mess! Lol appreciate all that you do, alongside the awesome moderators and admins, as well as everyone else here keeping it civil and friendly

Same experiences out here with people that we know personally.

I will not throw shade on anyone for exercising their freedom of choice, but we know people double vaxxed and boosted who had to be hospitalized.

I'll remain respectfully skeptical.

Omicron is a lot smarter than the scientists trying to fight it. Mother Nature is really pissed at the human race.
This strain has been a real pain for everyone. Started off bad for a couple of months, but then we were on the right side of it and starting to turn things around. Then, however, it fractured into 3 sub-strains and it regained it's former strength.

I just hope everyone here takes good care and towards their families. I don't wanna see ANYONE dealing with this crap and wish everyone nothing but the best

I was spared the sickness recently when I went to Vegas for a major convention a few weeks back. I was there alone for a few days going to some classes and then a big group from my current employer came down and we spent three days together walking the show floor. Somehow, three of the ten people avoided ended up getting the sickness. I was one of them.

It was a universal anomaly that I didn't catch it. Turned out to be a super spreader event. Weird considering 100,000 people attended and probably a hand full of people wore masks.

Please be safe. I feel that it's going to be around for a very long time. I'm more concerned about the long term effects this seems to have on some people. I work with a few people that have had it, and I would wager a large bet that these long term effects have taken hold with some of them. One of the Project Managers I work with, when you talk to him, it takes up to 25-30 seconds for him to grasp what's said to him and understand basic concepts. There's no way he's managed to make it through his career to this station while maintaining that level of cognizance.

Id be a liar if I said that things werent different after catching it the first time in September. The obvious longer term side effects were screwed up senses in taste and smell for months before it got back to normal ( this time luckily hasn't affected it).

But over time I began noticing things so not obvious at first. I get headaches a lot more often when i almost never did before and its like sometimes clearly blatant things dont make as much sense to me. For example, the big vacation debacle this year where I literally showed up a day earlier than when I was supposed to. I used to NEVER do stuff like that but as I was thinking about it, ive made a lot of weird mistakes like that in the past 9 months. Doing stuff that I look back and go " What the hell were you thinking dude?"

Could be that, could be Im getting older, could be Im just regressing into a further dumbass. Dunno lol

"We do not know about the clinical severity of BA.4 and BA.5 in comparison to our other Omicron subvariants," CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said at a White House Covid-19 Response Team briefing Tuesday. "But we do know it to be more transmissible and more immune-evading. People with prior infection, even with BA.1 and BA.2, are likely still at risk for BA.4 or BA.5."

Yeah thats the depressing part here: it reworked itself to making all of our gains moot once more. Just keeps rewinding the clock. It's thankfully not as nearly severe to the folks with some form of immunity but it spreads like wildfire and infects without a shred of mercy. To the folks who've had no prior immunity to it and the immunocompromised however, its as dangerous as it ever was.

I was exposed somewhere between last Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon at work, didn't go positive until Sunday despite having symptoms as early as late Thursday evening. Its now been 1 full week and i just took a rapid test that turned nearly immediately. Crazy part still, is that no one else is testing positive in my house a week later.

The CDC updated their guidelines earlier this year from being infectious for 8-9 days to now 5 days if no fever or further symptoms. By that case, i should be back to normal come tomorrow ( but gotta wear a mask for 5 days more). If no one else shows up with anything after those 5 days, then it would appear that they all evaded this miraculously. So that's something to look forward to!

Our doctor has been suffering symptoms for over a month. It seems anyone who gets it now is a long hauler. I'm trying desperately to shield my wife, who has a compromised immune system.
