Round 3 of exposure: this is getting really old

Welp...luck ran out on me this time. After 3 days of testing with a rapid on Thursday morning, an NAAT on Friday morning, a rapid on Saturday morning; I hit two positives this morning at 6am and again at 10am from two different brand of rapid tests.

Unfortunately this time, id say the rest of the family will most likely be joining the club. Worst of all, was my folks came over yesterday for about an hour, despite me warning them that I was still testing and quarantining and they have weakened immune systems. Hoping like hell that they dodge it somehow but all bets are off with this one being the most contagious to date.

Informed my company about it and they were a lot more understanding than when i initially warned them about the coworker testing positive. A bit of a poop storm is brewing now with the general contractor being utterly pissed off that the finish date will no doubt be missed now but, it is what it is ( they moved the completion date overnight from July 28 to July 15 , so screw them anyways)

So, gotta lot of down time now lol
There are pills now that can lessen the severity and shorten the length of infection.
I would urge you to start the anti viral medications ASAP. Don't wait.

Meanwhile in this little town there are 10 deaths in the last week.
It's spreading again pretty rapidly.

For some reason I seem to have built up immunity.
I know I have been exposed probably over and over but the vaccine seems to be working on me. Seemed to have lucked out, so far.

Is that the paxlovid drug? Id gladly take it if I can get ahold of it, as i took Regeneron last time during the Delta strain and was eligible then ( that stuff now doesn't work unfortunately)

This time has been different cause i monitored it daily and caught it on my own as opposed to going to a test center and finding out there. In that sense, i gotta call the county health and report myself tomorrow as opposed to last time where the center reported me.

2 main anti virals at this moment:

My therapist said she was positive yesterday...
several members at church didn't show today, said they were all sick.

Good info, ill check and see if im eligible! If not, no worries, as long as someone else way worse can get the stuff instead.

This new strain ( well three of them crossing over one another actually: B.A.1.2.1, B.A.4 and B.A.5) are the most virulent group to date but still under the dreaded Omicron flag. All qualify as "stealth" versions of the original Omicron, in that they can evade vaccines, test results and even prior Omicron infection natural resistance; basically resetting the clock once again. Only positive is it seems to be somewhat weaker to the people who got the shot and had been previously infected. Outside of that demographic, it's packing a wallop as good as ever and sadly taking out folks.

Im extremely sorry its hit close to home around you. Thats awful

You're supposed to take it "before" you get worse. Not after.

Oh i know, i was meaning someone way worse with a preexisting condition. Right now? They are kinda reserving it for folks over the age of 65 or with a preexisting condition ( the same qualifiers for the 2nd booster, in which i am not eligible for either). That being said, when regeneron was still working, they approved me for it due to folks around here declining to use it.

There is a debate with my doctor over asthma being on my medical records, but it was largely childhood asthma that i fortunately outgrew without medicine. However, when i was 22, it came back and i went on inhalers, yet because i kept off any flare ups for 2 years, they pulled me off of them by the time i was 25. Kinda screwed up really

Thank you bros! So far, still just the sinus like stuff and headaches. Wife has had headaches for days but is still negative as of this morning. Kiddos are 100% live and into everything lol so, fingers crossed this is the worst of it all. Folks say they feel fine thus far as well

A few days ago, my daughter started having headaches and other minor cold symptoms similar to when she had the thing last year.
She did 1 home test, negative.
It seems you need to do at least 2 or a best of 3.

For a minute there I thought I was going to have to stay home and play guitar for 2 weeks, err, I mean work from home.....

That sucks man, hope its all good and clear upon any further tests. Thats how it went for me: 23 days straight and all were negative but i had symptoms, 4th day had two positives, so what do ya do? Wife took one this morning and it was negative but like i told her, best check in a day or two again, along with the kiddos.

But yeah, there is always a silver lining in it with getting some playing time huh? Lol
