From the video demos and "word-of-mouth" (uhm... eSGEe), those amps are really nice and reasonably price considering their boo-tiki status.

I say 20 and under, in keeping with the topic of this thread of the OP. Unless you're Ritchie Blackmore, then a 100 watt Marshall might be considered a low watt amp... :dood:

gball was referring to my post where I described that I had installed in my Carvin Vintage 16, a Weber Blue Dog ceramic... magical combination :yesway:.

I really like my Blackstar HT1RH head for home use. It has good cleans and with the ISF control you can get a British or American or something in between sound. The drive channel is a love/hate thing. Sometimes it's my default for days then all of a sudden it sounds too fizzy. Fortunately the clean channel takes pedals really well so when I'm off the drive channel I use pedals. I use it with headphones and with a 1x12 cab. THE PANAMA CONQUEROR IS A 5f1 direct rip off---er I mean copy.......and they are AMAZING
Loaded with features and can be found DIRT cheap for an all hand wired all tube amp.
with an Attenuator AND the ability to work with 4-16 ohm ability!!! calling ALL cabinets ....BRING IT ON!!!

YEs its a Champ clone......however---- IMHO its better. I have played Fender Champs.....I own a Panama.

Sadly, I don't still have the amp, but this was the first proper guitar project I ever built. It is the 3 to 4 watt amplifier kit down on the right hand side. It actually sounded pretty good with its huge 8 inch speaker. I would have been 16 at the time.

Too bad no pics either. How old were you? Have you built one that you stiill use?

Is the ad from "microfilm"? Did you pay a visit to the library? I am glad we have Google now.

I was 16, and no, no pics. Taking photos was just for special stuff back then. I found that page online - some guy who is putting every copy of Wireless World ever online. That's a useful resource.

I have odd effects that I build, but they don't tend to hang around. When I've made something I like, I usually give it away. My current build is a little challenge - a super-smooth overdrive/fuzz from a single transistor, and powered by a coin cell. Should be running in a few days - I'll post that when it's done.
 
Best time warp for me on that pages was the pricing in pre-decimal money. 12 pence to a shilling, then 20 shillings to the pound. We were all maths wizards back then.

And if you are giving away any odd effects in the future, I am a taker! I normally do not ask for such things, but I am simply too intrigued. Freight and gratitude on me of course!!

The ad has decimals and fractions. That is giving me a headache.

I checked out the Panama sale on Reverb. They want $152 to ship to Canada. :( With customs fees that would make the final price north of $500.

The problem is that the Kustom is the current head for that cab - and your right, it really is quite good. So stop helping because you are curtailing my gear purchases!!!
