Post your low power tube amps...

Those 2 SG JRs i got are Precision Guitar Kits 1961 LP JR clones i built a couple years ago.One is poly finished with stain and this darker one is just Watco Danish oil .

Kits or not, they are nice looking guitars. Sounds like your enjoying them too, which is the main thing. Stains, dye, oils - my type of finishes. I'm a lacquer fan too. I tend to do the tootsie roll wise ole owl thing when I paint - A One, A Two, A Three - all done - runs and all - lol...

Traded this for a VHT Special 6 Ultra head I had. I like this a whole lot more. It has tube screamer circuitry built in, nice foot switch with long cable, and a 5w/15w switch.

Nice trade, I had 1 of those VHT's (did not like it much) & I did pick up an Ibanez TSA15 head and love the damn thing. Nice warm Fendery tone. I don't use the TS circuit at all. I run it in stereo with my JCM 800 in it's clean channel. It's actually a warmer sounding amp than the JCM. I just need to order another 1x12 so I can run both cabs & 1 amp. I ordered a sealed Siesmac 1x12 and put a Celestion Super 65 (older model G12n-65) in it. I pulled a pair out of an old Kustom cab I had before I gave it away & put it in 1 of those cabs and sounds nice. I have a 2x12 with WGS Vet. 30 & ET-65 but the Super 65's sounded better than those in the 1x12. But in the 2x12 the WGS's sound better than the Celestions. No clue why I haven't ordered the 2nd cab yet......took me a minute to order a hardcase for my SG. Might have to make that cab next!

I also have a Randall RVC 5watt tube amp I pulled from the combo it came in. Got it on clearance anyway and was a nice amp for $99! Don't use it much & need to make a head cab for it but it's here. And I have a JCA 20w combo on loan to my Sis-in-law & another JCA20w head set back for Frank :)

Took delivery of a low power gem this afternoon. It's a 1955 military amp converted into a guitar amp. it has two 6AQ5 power tubes, two 12AX7 preamp tubes and two 6X4 rectifier tubes. It has a small built in five inch speaker which sounds surprisingly OK. I'm using through an open back cab with an Emminence P50E speaker. The guy that modified it added a five way switch with a bunch of resistors. As you turn the switch you get more crunch. He claims fifteen watts but from everything I could find on the tubes it's more like eight to ten. In any case it is really loud. I'll find out tonight how loud. I'm going to try it in a local blues jam. Just noticed how dusty that cab is. Have to clean that off before I take it out :)

OMG! This amp rocks. Easily kept up with a drummer, bass, and two other guitars. It is the perfect blues amp, no pedals, volume on 3/4, tone at noon, creamy natural breakup, back off the guitar volume and decent almost cleans. Other players were taking pictures of it asking where they can get one. The guy has around 50 more. $365 CDN delivered by post. Might be a bit more to the US. I thought it would be a home amp. It's way too loud for that but for small gigs it's perfect.

Any video clips of these amps floating around?

You don't see a whole lot of those floating around, that's for sure. Very unique amp to own...

Thats a good sound for that sized speaker. IS there a line out to run to a bigger cabinet?

It has an 8 ohm and a 16 ohm spear jack. I think the video is through a 1x12 cab. The little speaker is OK but I will never use it. It is like putting a 500 rpm governor on a formula one car. It will get you around the track but what's the point?
