Honestly, I feel like I want to do something that I really want to do. I've been supporting 3 bands, plus my full-time studio recording/voice over work. I worked continuously for 7 years and we never missed a day, even during the pandemic (things never stopped, they just went underground) so I'm ready for a little slower pace...
Dear Robert.
Follow your heart mate. We only get one kick at this can, and you are the pilot.
Be well and enjoy every day no matter what you do.
Cheers,
Dave.

Here's a shot of YelloStrat this morning and what a brand new Fender medium pick looks like after one show.

First time in a very long time that I didn't break the pick!!!!

Usually, I break at least one pick like this during a performance:

In a whole 3 hr show I will go through a few. I use the 346 triangular heavy Fender White so I can see em when I drop em. Some get chucked to audience, of course! I get 3 corners to work with! I get white powder on mine too. I strum hard and dig in, I guess. The red dust looks cool on the yellow!
And congrats on the new job man!! Good on you. Hope you enjoy it.

No Marshall stack Robert ??? J\K

This is a amp/cab/effect sim by Steinberg contained in the new version of Cubase Pro, and the chief engineer was eager to try it out.

I was impressed with the presets in that they really did nail the tones described to a 'T.'

The most used amp sim in the L.A. studio circuit is by far Blue Cat Destructor, but this one is really good and came with the latest version of Cubase Pro.

Another amp sim popping up frequently here in L.A. studios is IK Multimedia AmpliTube 5 Max Software Suite.

Here's the rundown from the manufacturers website:

  • 400 Officially Licensed Amps and Pedals
  • Over 50 “Unofficial” Stomp Box Effects
  • Several programmable Wah-wah Pedals
  • Built In Recorder
  • Almost 100 Speaker Cabinet Options
  • Easy to Use Signal Chain
  • Built In 8 Track Recorder
  • 143,000 Cabinet Impulse Responses
  • 57 Possible Effects Used At Once
  • 192 KHZ Sample Rate
