Robert,

I don't know how I missed this thread until now! Regardless, good on you for stepping back to enjoy life and get out of the Rat Race!

Best of luck in your endeavors. It already looks like you are enjoying your new found freedom!

Bless you, kind Sir....

Oddly enough, I am actually working quite a bit. I put in a new 'super computer' (here at home) with a new version of Steinberg Cubase Pro 11, so I am able to file share with the studio (same platform) and I am only driving down a couple of days a week. The music academy is a really fun job and I am picking up a few more setups and repairs, so I am not bored in the least!!!

Now, the band isn't doing much right now because the drummer and the bassist are on vacation through September, but we have plans to pick it back up when they return.

If you play root, 5th, octave, it could still be a power chord IMO. Still 2 notes, just 3 strings. I call those power chords. 2 strings isn't really a chord to me.
Definitely sounds fuller that way, Jethro. Especially if your chord focuses on the higher octave note, the lower root gives it heft. E.G.: G2, D3, G3. Boom! Instant fat power chord "triad".
