I have a problem.....................................this tele has ruined me for OTHER Teles.....

This weekend, I did the drilling, some crevice filling and shaping. This is ready to be sealed. Raw spalted maple is crumbly and somewhat unstable. I will be happy to get the Tru-oil into the pores of this thing to bind it. I will use this "slurring" method (see around 7 minutes). I have always wanted to do this, but never had a piece of wood that could use some grain fill AND where I was not using stain.

Thats quite stunning! Amazing work my friend. Now, fire it up!This is ready for making music. I had to relocate the neck pocket for the second time from this builder. My bridge is dead center. The center line of the guitar is directly between the G and D strings. It also required a shim.
In any event, the problem is solved, the neck pocket is very snug, and it is playing very nicely. I will be spending the next few days taking the setup to the next level. I am happy about the result, including the challenges I faced and solved.

Thanks everyone. Of note, the wood was very porous. In the end, it took about 75 coats of Tru-Oil to develop a finish that could be buffed to a shine!
I know the feeling. 2 builds back to back (and partly together) was a bit overwhelming. I hope I do not see anymore "must have" wood!I've never come anywhere close to that on any of my builds, don't have the patience, lol. There is one I really want to do over, just the top, but I don't know if I ever will.
