Jensen speakers? Or possibly others...

OK, I Am guessing the Baffle unscrews with those 4 screws in the front?
Oh and it has those rounded inside corners on the Front of the Cab itself huh.


 
AT, How thick is the Baffle? Like in the cut out hole? 5mm, 7.5mm 10mm?

I am thinking of a few ideas, Sadly the amp has those rounded corners and the baffle mounts flush against the inside surface.

I've put it back together already but I'd say the baffle is a 12mm piece of plywood. The baffle does't have rounded edges on the inside so making a new one wouldn't be hard but it can't be front loaded the way it's nounted now, the bottom frame of the amp would get in the way of the speaker frame. I think I might just have to get that new speaker. At least now I have 20mm clesrance to the chassis instead of 5.
 
NOW for my daily dose of What Next to add to my list of hurdles to fix before I can get to the chores I was planning to do today.
We got a warm spell, so I turned the furnace off the other day. Now we get a wee cold snap, and fiancee got cold, Of course the furnace won't flame up and ignite. Go figure.
 
AT, the reasons I was asking how deep the baffle is and about those curved corners is IF you were to need to stay with the Gold speaker or one similar depth, I was working up a modification to the depth of the baffle around the perimeter of the contours of the Cab Framing. In essence to shift the baffle deeper into the opening of the box. Plus if needed, to front mount the speaker. I could see a combination of these measures to attain the depth you need. I am thinking to Front mount the speaker, then glue on some wood the same thickness as the mounting ring of the speaker which will allow a flush mounting of the grille cloth again. Basically you would lose a little depth of the rounded edge of the Tolex with the baffle being positioned your 10mm farther outward toward the front edge of the cab box.

That does look bad but I'd say it's an exaggeration. Mine seems pretty well put together. There is sufficient clesrance betwern the bottom screw and the fuse holder. Reagrding the clearance between the switch and the screw it too is sufficient, provided you use the screw intended for the job (note that one is shorter) .

It is very similar to the Blues Jr but not iddntical. The tonestack behaves differently. If you turn all the EQ knobs to 0 on the BJr it goes muddy, tjis one goes completely silent.

Even if anything is exaggerated, it also could be a case of old versus current runs of the amp production. AND it gives owners an idea of things to look out for and to remedy before any issues arise.
