Dave Mustaine & the new Gibson Alliance...

at the beginning of the video Mustaine says "when you gave me that les paul--- that was the greatest gift" ------

its all about the $$$ folks ---
When Gibson STOPS PAYING Dave will STOP PLAYING --- simple
 
who knows maybe Gibson "won" him in the laswsuit with Dean?

OR Gibson PAID him way more and it was an "F.U." from Gibson too Dean....... ???

We will never know--- but I agree it was likely a METRIC :poo: TON of $$$$$$$-- Dave aint no SPRING CHICKEN -- and now that he sober he MIGHT be thinking about "investments--- retirement -- health insurance" etc.......-- you know ALL THOSE NON METAL things old people do..

Some people will say anything to make a buck....
 
So he's doing it for money. So what? Good for him that he's in a position to make a few bucks off of it.

I think at Mustaine's level the guitars are nothing more than tools to get the job done, not fetish objects or aspirational purchases. As long as a builder can make it to his specs I see no reason for him not to grab the cash. The dude can melt your face no matter what he's playing.
 
Hell Jimmy Buffett, Gene Simmons and Joe Bonamassa have to be 3 of the biggest marketing /money driven fellas on the planet and I like em all ;)
 
As i said before: i am a devout Gibson guy but i think this one is a bust and thats just my honest opinion. They just dont fit with him or what he does. It would be like seeing Angus Young going to ESP for an SG. Just doesnt work

I do see it a little different, also as a devout Gibson guy. The guitars he's always played are inspired by/variants of original Gibson designs. It makes sense to me for him to go back to the source, and IMO the Gibsons are light-years better looking than what we are used to seeing him with.

I disagree, what he used to play looks way cooler than the crap he is going to play. And best metal record Rust in peace is made by '' inspired'' guitars.

Since that's a subjective matter (the looks of the guitars, not the record) you'll get no argument. What we can all agree on - I think - is that Mustaine is a monster player and I'll listen to him no matter what he's playing.
