Battle of the amps??

So, I am looking for a practice amp, small thing to have some fun (yeah, no need for a 3 storie sound wall xD).

This is somethings that I really would like to have:
* Be a modelling amp (cause no money to spend in pedals at the moment xD)
* Record output
* FX loop
* Accepting switch pedals would be a plus, but not one of the basics.
* Very important: I would like to retain my two kidneys xD

So, I have some amps I've search and liked but one or two things are missing:
* Vox VT20/40x sound amazing for crazy cheap, but no fx loop and no record output,
* Positive grid spark 40, sounds in paper like a dream for free, except many reviews are basically painfully clear paid ads, and the one or two that had a second of honesty pointed that it sounds muffled and a too bass heavy, which is a no go for me.
* Fender Mustang LT25/50 sound pretty neat for the price, but that screen smaller than my smartwatch screen is just as useful has having no screen, and no fxloop
* Boss katana 50, sounds very good, but no recording lineout or fx loop
* Fender Mustang GTX50, well, this one sounds amazing to my ears, checks all the ticks easily, except the bill... 389€ is a bit heavy for a newbie.

Now, my heart is very heavily torn between forgetting the recording and fx loop and go for one of the Vox VT20X, or forget the hard my back worked for those green bills and go for the Fender Mustang GTX50.

So, throw your opinions. Recording and fx loop overrated?
I like to future proof but....

If you have any others that pass the chevk list please let me know. Or if they miss one chevk, let me know why you would still get it.

All opinions are appreciated!! :dood:

Oh no. Here we go again...:BH:
the can of worms has been opened...

Normally, guitar tracks are recorded without effects.
The effects are added in the mix down stage.
This gives the producer / engineer more flexibility in creating the final product.

Get the Katana, or a used Mustang III v2 (great amp, cheap). Who needs a line out or effects loop on a digital amp?

XD i understand, but while Im just practicing, I would like to have effects, so either a moduler or use pedals (thus the cheap moduler xD). But if I want to record, to keep track of improvement etc, I would need a line out for that. Mever meant to use both at the same time, don't worry :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

The mustang 3 v2 sounds good. Will check the prices. The Katana only the 100 has fx loop, and 100w might be a bit annoying for my neighbours and its already Mustang GTX50 price territory xD but thanks for the information, will check that Mustang 3v2

Seeing as the Katanas all have a 0.5w mode that is more than capable of upseting the neighbours (ask me how I know), 50 or100W is moot.

I think power attenuation on a digital amp is a moot point anyway. Cranking the volume is not necessary to achieve the desired sound.

The low power output is supposedly tone compensated in the Katana to make it sound even better. Fletcher Munson curve and all that...

I don't know or care. It makes the noises I want it to make and doesn't wake the babies, let alone the evil dead...

Wasn't Fletcher Munson the dulcimer player in Status Quo?

For the money, its hard to beat the Fender Mustangs. They are the best costing modeling series out there right now. That is EXCEPT for the GTX100. Its one of the more costly combo modelers. The Mustang III is as equal at half the cost. Few less features but the cost makes up for that.

For the best overall in price, features, volume? BOSS Katana, easily. You can get a 100w 2x12 for the same price as the Fender GTX100 1x12 and it will blow the GTX out of the water. The 1x12 Katana is only $100 USD cheaper than the 2x12 model, so might consider that.
