Battle of the amps??

For the money, its hard to beat the Fender Mustangs. They are the best costing modeling series out there right now. That is EXCEPT for the GTX100. Its one of the more costly combo modelers. The Mustang III is as equal at half the cost. Few less features but the cost makes up for that.

For the best overall in price, features, volume? BOSS Katana, easily. You can get a 100w 2x12 for the same price as the Fender GTX100 1x12 and it will blow the GTX out of the water. The 1x12 Katana is only $100 USD cheaper than the 2x12 model, so might consider that.

The katana 50mkii does fit the bill and I see it has a recording line out. But I can't find the info on loop. Does it take a loop pedal?

Out of curiosity why does one need an effects loop on an amp that has every effect known to man built in?

 I meant, to creat loops, so I can't layer different guitar tracks over, changing the effects I want without affecting the previous loop tracks.... Am I wrong to assume it needs fx loop? Again, newb here, don't kill me if I say some blunter :ROFLMAO: all info is mightly appreciated.

You dont necessarily need an fx loop with an amp modeler in the traditional sense. But i get what youre after and saying. It does add a sense of flexibility. But as far as creating tones, you have multiple user created stored tones and just switch in and out without erasing the prior tone. As far as recording with it for layering? Sure, it will do that as any amp would as you record individual tracks

The 100w 1x12 and 2x12 does have an FX loop but the 50w does not unfortunately

Humm... For the price of the 100w I would probs go with the Mustang GTX50 I think. Cause wither that, so to future proof and have all I need. Or go simple with Vox VT20X and one day spend even more total just for the upgrade. Or I believe the "totally real 1000k reviews for the Spark"...

Ah I see, you want to use a looper pedal. I just use my DAW. Much simpler and more accurate. :D

Yeah, I mean, If im at home playing, and want to have a loop with say reverb on etc on loop, and then layering that with a track without reverb, from what I gather, on a moduller it needs to have a fx loop, otherwise when i change the settings for the second layer it will also change the settings of the layer on loop. So for the second, if I take the reverb, the original will keep on loop but also without reverb. Think I saw someone explaining that and looking also for a workaround, cause they had a Vox VT20X which has no fx loop.

If you are dead set on using a loop pedal @Pardejo, you'll definitely want the FX-loop.

Having said that, I usually use the DAW, same as @Beagle.

A footswitch just looks more simple and quick. Tap here, tap there, done, tap on the other botton and tone change and keep playing. I'm guess within a Daw you actually have to stop a little longer or is it that easily and intuitive? But been looking for options with just recording out, like the Vox Cambridge 50, Peavy vyper 2 and Boss Katana 50 mk2. The first and last sound good.

Boss Katana has an advantage of using it just like any other amp as in the sounds you find do not have to be stored as a peeset. They can be but do not have to be. Good tones, I use mine as a band rehearsal amp. So much computer tweaking can be done too.
Love it. Live it works well with the big footswitch.

I hook mine up to the tablet when I'm recording. Not for the effects, just so that I don't have to move to tweak the tones or volume. :D
