I did many gigs with a Gibson strap into a '94 Ibanez s540. .

Is the Ibanez still alive or did it lose its headstock?

Will it somehow upset the guitar Gods, so that the tele falls off its stand and the headstock breaks?

I ask because I only have one free strap at home (and I like the same style strap on my SG), so it's convenient.

No Grump, using a Gibson strap it brings the price of the guitar down hahaha..What you need is a Custom made strap from our member here.

Has any telecaster ever suffered a broken headstock? If me dog kicks the tele off its stand and it snaps in two then we will know you are right (I'm kinda expecting that Gibson curse to occur).

Never gonna happen. Teles are very solid, but you don't want to drop one due to colateral damage.

I dropped mine in my apartment once and this happened:

I have put Gibson STRINGS on a Fender guitar and Fender Strings on a Gibson Guitar ..........so ..........................the Cosmos will be fine, though I did that at the start of 2020....................................

Here the worn strap. This Ibanez is great. All stock. No broken headstock. But It was refreted 10 years ago. The strap would be bought by my parents when they bought me an Epi.

Grumpy if you are worried the strap will slip off, try a plastic bread wrapper clip on it, I have used a fender strap on a Gibson before and the world didn’t stop spinning, and my SG didn’t go Twang !!

It is wrong on the best possible way. I have PRS pickups in an SG, Tom Anderson pups in a Les Paul, and HB teles. It is a coming together of all things good in the world, a unity of tone!! Rejoice and Amen!!!!!!!
