Thank you Bea. Having never built my own guitar like this, I drew a blank as to what they could be. Sure can't wait till you complete it and make it rumble.

It is indeed dark. At present i do not see any future for our musical project.

Is that due to all the pandemic stuff? Or, is that due to lack of interest? I know it's tough getting motivated to do stuff lately. When the motivation is there, the focus is usually not.

First there is lack of interest. Which means that the pandemic stuff will kick us off the field completely.

No, it isn't. But practising over years, get good response from the people who heared us life but "boring" from potential places ist pretty frustrating.

And there is more: the public interest seems to go more toward German singing, and of course all female bands have more difficulties to get booked.

Easier to make, especially if you don't have a router. With the right choice of wood (for large Young's modulus) and sufficient neck thickness (!!!!!) it'll work perfectly. I actually expect the stiffness of Rick Toone's hollow aluminum trussrod tubes.

In fact I own three other instruments without truss rods - the two old archtops i restored (where the neck is made of birch for obvious reason) and my 5-string V-bass, where i combined a thick Katalox finerboard with a centre of machiche wood. in an otherwise maple neck. And the tow old maple necks i used in my recent builds are so stiff that i simply do not need the truss rod.

Snow in the background? Mhmm, we had 15° C and are still having 11°...

Anyway: more wood for the neck:

Let me pull this up... too much trouble, too many diffenten and more important projects ... well, and another five years are gone!

But finally i am cutting fret slots .... (and the small hand brush is really good as a light wooden hammer to to position the log exactly at the desired position).

The piece of meranti unfortunately did not give enough flawless wood; i will have to fill a fewe nail holes after having roughly contoured the neck. Well, that's life...
