Friedman Amplifier Customer Service

Exactly, they sound like my pedal-boosted Origin 50.

My guess is they are basically doing a Tim Caswell #39 modification???
From what little i know about them, they typically combine a few famous mods to the 1987Plexis, 1959Plexis, 2203/2203 JMP and 800s. Largely it seems that the Jose mod is the main platform, but in a lot of the Monomyth variations, theyve combined everything from Friedman mods, Langner mods, Cameron mods WITH the Jose mods.

Id love to find out more on them!

I'm not that surprised honestly. Friedman is a tiny operation in North Hollywood, little more than a shack, which is all it needs to be since the production is handled elsewhere. I'd be shocked if there are more than 10 people working there in total.

Somebody didnt watch the video.....................I think I saw more than 10 folks in the video.....maybe not --
and........
1. I wouldn't call Friedman "tiny" ;)
2. its a big damn "shack"
3. you should go there -- you can play a multitude of BOGNER and a Friedman and a Wampler stuff--- all in one room ;)
including the new GUITAR line

really did ANYONE watch the homework? Im going to start testing you guys ---- BUWAHAHAHAHAHA

Boutique Amps is a huge factory that produces products for dozens of companies, including Friedman. They are not Friedman employees.

Friedman is a small space in a pretty nasty-looking industrial section of North Hollywood:

I've been to Tone Merchants, which is a pretty badass shop right in front of it, so I've seen the place and it is quite small.

I had some odd sounds from my David Eden speakers that are in my Mesa 4x10 so I called up the company.

Supposedly I spoke to David as well. That was years ago. The odd part is after being assured my description of the issue could be made to go away with a reconing service, sadly after spending a good chunk to ship 4 heavy ass bass speakers there plus the repair cost, I still think I hear the noise once I got them back and wired back in. Needless to say, I took a relatively expensive cab by my standards and made it OVERpriced considering what I am left with. It still sounds Mostly good, but it irks me to pay something like $250 bucks and not to have gotten the noise to go away. To me it sounds like a voice coil rubbing.

Now to be totally transparent, it is possible I could have jacked up my wiring as well. ( I did this all prior to meeting any of you guys ) plus basically in the very beginnings of my repairs to any gear of any type. I will have to revisit that little used cabinet, and see exactly what I did wiring, such as Series Parallel etc and Ohmage wise etc.

One of the hardest parts about this cab, is it is front loaded, has a ton of baffling padding inside, and a switch and Horn in addition to the 4 drivers.
Oh yeah, and there is a sort of buss bar type strip inside the cab toward the back where all the wires get soldered to separate contacts. Maybe I can get some pics and tips from you guys if I cannot figure it out myself. Also, I now have a pair of very nice Multimeters for checking things that I did not have when I first bought this cab and went to service it.

On the subject of Friedmans, my little Pink Taco is one of the best-sounding amps I've ever owned.
In terms of hot British, it's almost impossible to get a less-than-excellent sound from the thing.
Not exactly a chameleon but what it does, it does exceptionally well.
And it has Friedman's extraordinary master volume circuit, a great feature on Dave's amps that sometimes is overlooked.

I think the Twin Sister looks to be a magnificent twin-channel amp: both sides offer a full spectrum of drive, rather than one being a low-gain channel.

My PT with custom 1x12" cab.

TONE MERCHANTS IS CLOSED?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I had an issue with my Friedman BE Deluxe and I sent them an E mail two days ago, Dave Friedman E mailed me back within 20 minutes and got the ball rolling for a repair. I look forward to owning one of their amps. I heard plenty of wonderful customer service stories about them and now I have one. We’ll see how the repair goes ...love that pedal

You own the BE amp?

So jealous, If and when I have the extra $$$$ a Friedman is in my future.

I've yet to try one of his products that didn't sound great.

The man obviously has golden ears.

No, the BE deluxe is a pedal.I like to run it into a Blackstar Artisan 30 or 100...the hand wired ones. I’d like to own a few of their amps but I have a ton of amps as it is. In the neighborhood of 25 of the best sounding amps from the late 50s til now. I love the FEEL of warm, open sound. My favorite amp is a JMJ 30...last guy that got one waited 12 years on the builders’ list. You can read what he wrote on TGP
