The Muse I Adorn

I found a sleeper (that I regret slacking on) at The Guitar Doctor in Whitman, a couple of years back...a Guild....it played like silk...had a neck/headstock repair done(by the owner of the shop)...I hesitated, and it was gone on my next visit...

Last night, me and my bass player friend were discussing those old Guild acoustics. When the factory was in Rhode Island, they made made some incredible guitars. I’ve known several people that have owned them over the years, and there was never a bad one that I’ve ever encountered. If Doogle had handed me a nice Guild on Thursday, and the price was right, I would have grabbed it.

jjudas i love that Strat.
Thanks Johnny! It was in bad shape when I bought it. The electronics were all messed up and disconnected. One pickup was dead and the pickguard was cracked down the middle. The bridge saddles were caked with dirt and gunk. It looked like it was in someone's garage for 15 years. I bought it for $20, took it apart, cleaned it up and put it back together with some new parts. The neck is very nice and and body very resonant. Now it's about equal to my MIM Fender Strat in playability and quality.
