Papa's Got A Brand New Amp -

String definition is what sold me on the Origin, that and the way it cuts in the mix, plus it strongly reminded me of that first in person Marshall I stood in front of and listened to.

I have never been sufficiently intelligent as to be able to engineer a tone. I kind of stumbled along the tonal path, looking for certain elements...like heavy midrange EQ to cut through a mix, an ability to boost for solos without increasing gain...a noise gate to make it more controllable when standing in front of the amp on a small stage and enough gain and resonance to achieve speaker movement, yet retain some clarity on the open string phrases and chord structures.

So, it was largely accident.

Hell I didn’t know that Corona had a GC.

One in Corona and one by you.
He did say ENGL.

Hey Bastarddon, What say you for Brother Robert Gain? ( I renamed him from Herndon)
I know of a particular HEAVIER than he likely wants to carry option.

I had an AOR50 for a couple years. It was a total Marshall-Killer...much better in every way than the JCM-800 that it replaced.

Hey MAN, I been looking for THE Laney 50 watt clip.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and I think I just found it. This is the 6 knob

Holy moly the clarity he recorded this as I hear it thru my headphones.

Pretty sure BastardDon can add to these Laney clips his own experience with his 50 watter. Pretty sure we both have the same amp. 8 knob Versions.

Only Don's does not have mouse chewed wires and a chewed cap. Once Winter hits and I am in the house more, I hope to get to concentrate and redo my Laney and get it sounding like this.

I had a modded 2203 Marshall that was my main amp for many years along with a Marshall #1990 (8x10) Cabinet.

The amp had an additional gain stage and it produced more gain than any JCM800...

Yep...good amps. I loved mine when I was gigging it regularly, and still do.
I’m sure it’s too heavy for Robert. It also doesn’t say “Marshall”, and have a gold faceplate.

Like I said love my Origin.

The JVM is a whole 'nother class. It's kinda their flagship model now, for the modern built amps.

There sure are a lot of knobs, but I bet it'd be fun programming all the different tones and just recalling with the footswitch.
The JVM really does do everyrhing. What it doesn't do is recall tones. It recalls the switches on the front panel, if set up that way. So it can call up what channel amd mode that channel is in and the fx loop or even the 2nd Master volume. I use my switch to change a channel at a time. It can also change modes for ech channel everytime you press that channel switch plus one for loop amd one for the second MV.
Pretty sweet setup!

In Robert's other threads about breaking up his DSL into a head and Cab, due to wanting lighter portability, I got to thinking about the perfect amp for him, but it was really made with the Bass instrument in mind. The Walter Woods amps.
My friend, Craig introduced me to them in the unit he owns. He used to tell me it was widely used by guys who maybe treked across city streets on subways to try out for a gig, or to be super portable for session work, especially when they were playing acoustic double bass type stuff.
