In these times of isolation

We're entering week three of lockdown here. While most shops are still open, people are staying at home as much as possible, and there are noticeably less people outside these days. It is getting pretty boring, but we've used the time to do a few things around the house that we've been putting off for a long time.

One of those things was getting rid of the bunk beds both my boys have had in their rooms. They were bulky, and their rooms are fairly small, so in order to give them more sense of space, we decided to pull out the lower bed in both rooms and just use the upper bunk as a regular bed. The question then was what to do with the bunks we were to get rid of. Selling or giving them away them was out of the question, because they just don't work well as single beds. My first idea was to use them for firewood, but then I figured I'd rather turn them into something useful and ave some fun while doing it. I'm no carpenter, but here's what I did.

I made a bench for the garden out of the first one:

And then a work table for potting, cutting roots etc. for the garden, from the second bed.

Now I just need to plug a few holes (I'll be using the plugs that held the bed together as dowels) and stain them to make them fit for life outside. I'm certainly no carpenter, but both the bench and table are sturdy as hell, so I must have done something right. We were planning on buying both a bench and a work table, so I saved a pretty penny doing this as well.

How do you guys spend your time (except for guitar-related business) these days?

Looks good to me as well sir. Not much of a carpenter here either. Take an engine apart. Put it back together. Make it run. No problem.

We’re starting week two here in Illinois. Mrs. IbLive is a teacher and is starting week three. April 8 is supposed to be the date we can reopen non-essential business. Fully expecting our governor to extend that. We shall see.

Well a couple of weeks ago, worked out a deal on a new 2020 golf car, now last week all the businesses are closed. Golf car was to be shipped to the dealer last week of course it wasn't shipped, so have no idea when things will get processed, the dealer ordered new rims and tires from U.S, they are closed as well, so everything on hold for now. With this virus going on don't know if the campground will open May 1st or won't open at all this year, the Doctors are saying isolation will be months. We need to get this virus under control, that is the most important thing. Stay home.

so far we are deamed "essential" -- though at times I fell more "EXPENDABLE" than essential--
roads-- highways and construction-- the Gov of Fl. even said D.O.T. and road projects are being "ramped up" to take "advantage" of the low traffic situations---
we are booked SOLID for 2 weeks min running multiple crews daily--and starting to book into week three---Im traveling tomorrow and Friday --
for us -- at present its business as usual---but that could change in a second---
So far all the crew are healthy -- being careful -- and working well. Most of what we do is away from public-- behind construction fence and barricades--will see how long we can go .............

Very nice & also inspiring !! My bookshelves are not started yet....bad me !! kick---kick--kick...lol

can't put the guitars down lately...never had a break from the phones for 8 years. Almost was shell shocked at first...felt weird...no being threatened ..cursed at all day..

retirement was so near...not gonna happen now

a/b'd every guitar & amp in a showdown & committed to putting the ones not using in cases & the amps out in the hall all covered up....am going to commit to the gear lowering. Pretty amazing what is staying & how being honest with one self could save a bunch of time & $$..:cautious::unsure::hmmm:
