and it will METAL and CHUG all the way home
Very good articulation there. Didn't get that with the Filmore 50.
No. The Rectoverb is a Mini-Rectifier with the addition of spring reverb, so it's a modern hard rock/metal voicing, despite the misleading inclusion of a vintage mode. That mode means vintage in the sense of being similar to the first Rectifiers, not meant to be voiced like an amp from another era. The preamp is the same circuit that's in the full-size Rectos, and really does sound the same to my ears, you just don't get the wind in your trousers the same way you do with the big-bottle amps.
TBH, I run my Mini-Rec in the "vintage" mode on the red channel much more than the "modern" mode. The modern removes all negative feedback from the power section and for me tends to make things slightly more brittle in the midrage. If you need a lot of volume though, that's the mode to use as it's quite a big volume jump and has a heck of a lot more headroom.
the Filmore goes for more of Fenderish sound, in my opinion. The Mini Rec is an absolute slayer.!
Aint no lie. Wound up these things sound like they are trying to hurt you.
It’s a Triple Rectifier. One hundred and fifty watts of brutality. I have the one hundred watt version. I’ve had it since around 2002. Good luck with that beast. It’ll take the fillings out of your teeth, and dust any ceiling fixtures for you. What exactly is it called?
I don’t know how easy it is to find genuine Mesa tubes online, and tax free, these days.F30----180.00
With MESA tubes---------I went JJs for MUCH less

I don’t know how easy it is to find genuine Mesa tubes online, and tax free, these days.
You know what they did with the deductions this year....
It’s a ~$2500.00 head....with a warranty...if you take care of it.
They're very easy to find, either direct from Mesa or from Sweetwater or another authorized dealer. Don't know about tax-free through, it does seem like that is becoming a thing of the past.
Anyways, buying something like a Triple Rec and worrying about what the eventual retube will cost is a bit like buying a Ferrari and sweating the cost of an oil change or brake job to me.
Tubes are consumables, and you know going in that they won't last forever. I'd think you wouldn't even have to worry about it for 5-7 years unless you were gigging it nightly.

), you’re not going to “need” to re-tube often. That said, it is good practice to keep a full set on hand as spares...Because you never know.
:dood:the Filmore goes for more of Fenderish sound, .....
If one is looking for a Fenderish sound why not buy, well, a Fender?
Both my Deluxe and my Champ totally nail the Fenderish sound.
