Piano inside Randy's home:
Diary Of A Madman has always been an amazing hard-rock composition. The choice and flow of chords and notes could only be conjured up by a true virtuoso... Randy Rhoads.
He was a true original. And by all reports a very sweet person as well. While I have never been a great fan, Randy Rhoads is a guitarist that deserves respect no matter what type of music you are into. (Don't get me wrong, I think his playing was killer and the stuff he did with Ozzy was really cool.) He inspired (and continue to inspire) thousands of pickers. A few years ago, when I was still a teacher, I subbed for a music teacher who was ill a couple of lessons. One of the lessons was band practice, and this 13 year old kid came in with a Jackson guitar (one of those V things). He played with a drummer and a bassist. They didn't have a vocalist, but absolutely killed it when they started playing "Crazy Train". He proved to me once and for all that rock is not dead right there and then.
Why are all the truly great ones dead?
