No...I'm buying some expensive ones and I'm curious if anyone has real life experience.

What do you all think about hand wound pickups that are wound on the real vintage machines from the 50's with period accurate plastics and wire?
I have two sets of Thro-Bak SLE-101's PAF clones - $549.00/pair - I would never do it again...to be frank, some of the best sounding pickups I have experienced have been cheap.
I have found the opposite to be true and that's why I asked. I had that set of Bernie Marsden Beast Buckers and they were just wondrous.
Now I have a set of Josefina's in the Strat I just built and they are so far superior to anything I've ever had.
I wish I had a pair of Humbuckers that would suit you Robert. I do have a single high output pickup I won in a contest.
I've never installed it because you know I'm not a hi-gain type guy. Could you use a single humbucker?
The Thro-Bak's get rave reviews. They didn't work so well for me, but your results may vary. I guess I would say go into it with an open mind and evaluate them. I certainly wish you a much better experience than I've had trying to find good pickups...
So, how much for her DNA are you looking at?I found a set of Abigail Ybarra handwound Strat pickups. They are very hard to find and were only installed in
Masterbuilt Custom Shop Strats on request and at a $700 up charge!
