So Anyway...

What do you all think about hand wound pickups that are wound on the real vintage machines from the 50's with period accurate plastics and wire?

I have two sets of Thro-Bak SLE-101's PAF clones - $549.00/pair - I would never do it again...to be frank, some of the best sounding pickups I have experienced have been cheap.

I have found the opposite to be true and that's why I asked. I had that set of Bernie Marsden Beast Buckers and they were just wondrous.
Now I have a set of Josefina's in the Strat I just built and they are so far superior to anything I've ever had.

I wish I had a pair of Humbuckers that would suit you Robert. I do have a single high output pickup I won in a contest.
I've never installed it because you know I'm not a hi-gain type guy. Could you use a single humbucker?

The Thro-Bak's get rave reviews. They didn't work so well for me, but your results may vary. I guess I would say go into it with an open mind and evaluate them. I certainly wish you a much better experience than I've had trying to find good pickups...

I found a set of Abigail Ybarra handwound Strat pickups. They are very hard to find and were only installed in
Masterbuilt Custom Shop Strats on request and at a $700 up charge!

So Anyway...I'm on my last music class through Berklee...I need a TAB for a Blues Solo in "E", anyone got something I play in E to a Blues Shuffle backing track? I need the solo NOT the backing track...
