PCB In Gibsons:

Wait, why tell me this?
View attachment 1434
This is the diagram I started with when wiring The Lady (I modified the grounds but that's irrelevant), why you felt it necessary to explain a system I used is beyond me.

My point was that Gibbo has the option in the PCB of the HP LP to switch all kinds of wiring options. 50s included.

Hmmm....it was just to show the 50's wiring everyone was discussing....if you had already posted this, I didn't see it....

Not as quick and easy as the system ol Roberts looking at from GFS......no soldering needed complete harness is 22.00 and its plug and play with the GFS line of pups....... kinda neat really-----
Could swap out pups and harness in about 10 minutes int he back of a VW bus behind a dive bar in Cleveland on a Sat. night----if ya wanted to.

I might just try it, as long as the pots are correct, because I am not opening up the body....

You guys hear yourself ? 5 pages of this ! ! !
Not you specifically Robert.

What % of buyers you think even knows what is under the hood ? It's a handful of tweakers (90% must be on forums like this one), that obsess about potentiometers, PCBs and such.
The common buyer will get a Gibson of his shape and color choice and accept it's tone as what is supposed to be. Before even thinking about upgrading anything on said guitar, he will buy that miracle pedal that will make his guitar sound like his guitar idol. If that doesn't work, he'll go to square one and start over again.

Why do you think there are so many great guitars available on the used market ?

Thinking back on it ... you all act the same, just with longer and more expensive detours.

PLAY THE DAMN GUITAR AND SHUT UP !

I was influenced by this crowd to buy some good 500 and 350 pots about two years ago to "upgrade" some of my guitars. They are still wrapped in bubbles in a can.

But then what would we talk about?

I think your point is well taken that this and other forums have an unusual % of tweakers. But that it is why it is a worthwhile conversation. We embrace both activities as a passion, playing and tweaking. "Just playing" would be to give up a passion. Also, now armed with the knowledge, there is no turning back - you cannot un-ring the bell. Since I know I can make the guitar play better, I must (emphasizing the "I" in that sentence). .

I have bought a "boatload" of stuff from China, and I have had to replenish many of the items already.

And I thank you for providing good playing instruments to the used market. You should let us know though ...

Argentine ants scavenge the remains of a piranha.
As its name suggests, the Argentine ant (Linepithema humile) is originally from Argentina. But thanks to the globalization of human society, the invaders have now spread to every continent except Antarctica. They arrived in New Zealand in 1990, for example, probably on a boat or a plane, and have since formed a super colony spanning the nation.
These little buggers are in everything, including our electronics! Our food is all sealed but they still come in. I have ant traps, even sticky paper where they try to enter, but still, they come. I have been at this fight for three years. While not as painful or aggressive as fire ants, they do bite and it is irritating.
Any solutions, gladly tried.

Why i dont post on these types of topics, that also goes for anything Religion or Politics.theres NO fooking end to it !!!!

the Orkin man does
Not so far. Their treatment is localized to one house and yard. They can kill the colony under your house, but a week or two later a new one is established.

That sucks Biddlin....so its just an ongoing treatment----- probably some arse hole marketing director at Orkin brough the things back from vacation----"job security" ....................

Move to a cold climate. None around here.

^^^This.

I understand why some people move to warmer areas, but I much prefer temperate zones that see some snowfall.

I could actually move to a colder climate and be fine.
