My B3 conversion was a failure. Moved my string tension roller closer to the bridge, but couldn't palm mute with it.
Then I ended up with an area that was pock marked up with mounting holes, so I tried to hide it with a black stripe.
Another failure... Ended up going back to square one and filled the holes and took another shot at refinishing. And yes, that is a can of Bondo in the upper left corner...
Then added a much modded B5 with 360 degree handle, string thru bar ( no pins) and removed the top mounting leg of the B5 and put the mounting screw under the spring cup.
I think I've got the right formula this time!

That’s the same thing Gibson did with their vibratos. There is no forward mounting leg on the handle side. The screw hole is located in the spring cup, just like you did.
In this shot of my ‘74 SG, You can’t see the actual screw hole because the guitar is strung up, but you can see that there is no mounting leg.
