Your go to amp

TBTH-- my most treasured--- unflappable-- favoritest amp of all -- over the years--- (gosh at least 6 or so now..maybe more)
My Hartke B600
hartke.jpg
MANY MANY MANY other gutiar and bass amps have come and gone -- MUCH (seriously VOLUMES of ) other gear has come and gone ---
I have run head to head comps with bass amps from Vitnage and modern Kustoms to brand new 200 watt Ashdowns
Marshalls
Vox
Peavey
Acoustic
Behringer
Fender rumbles (truly the closest to toppling the Hartke)
Orange
nothing has beat my little 60 watt beastie---

SOME were louder --- some had MANY more features---
NONE had a better tone for MY LEVEL of playing-- Im not playing the Hollywood Bowl-- or even Eds Toilet Bowl BAr And Grill--- so----
I DONT need to MOVE AIR (though it does)
I dont need to be "heard in the mix" -- or CUT THROUGH-- anything other than the dogs fighting over a chew toy----

So -- for me --- it was the BEST 60.00 on gear Ive ever spent -- ;)

I wasn't going to post because I thought I didn't have a goto amp. I have several amps. They all get used for different things. Then I realized I have one that gets used every day. All the others only get used when I play out. So, my goto is a Blackstar HT1RH 1 watt head through a Blackstar HTV112 cab with a 12" Emminence P90E speaker. I almost always play it through headphones. This amp gets used an hour or two every day. Usually my iPad or my iPhone are hooked up through the line input. I've had this amp for six years now. In the mean time I've probably had ten other amps come and go. I still have three other amps but this is the one that gets used every day.

That is a cool looking package, my buddy John had a blackstar 100 watt head for a bit but then he exchanged it for the Peavey 6505, that he rarely plays,Robert H here on the forum is an avid user of a blackstar amp, I have yet to sit down and play one. Cheers Mitch

I really like the Blackstar for recording. But, I feel it (my ID-core 100) is really lacking in a live band situation. Having said that, it's quite possibly the best and quietest amp to hook up to a DAW that I have ever used...

The HT1RH has the best cab sim with the line out that I have ever heard. It sounds huge. It is awesome for recording. At 1 watt it isn't much good for live use. I tried it once with a 4x12. It sounded great but I had to have everything dimed so it had one tone. It was a great tone but not very versatile. It is surprising how loud 1 watt can be.

A lesson I have finally learned this week.

Amps record different than they sound in the room, your one watt amp sounds huge on a track.

I have a beautiful JTM 45, anyone that plays it loves it's tones. Can't get an above average tone with it- for right now. But my Origin 20H sounds great thru the DAW. It doesn't matter what you do to the knobs, it sounds killer?
