Some of you may remember that my Gibson SG Special, ordered from Thomann, did not turn up in the best of shape; the bridge and highE intonation screw were stripped due to ? Incorrect size, bad installation, attempting to intonate the guitar while the strings were at tension? Who knows. SG John seems to have had a similar problem with his SG Special.
I spoke to Gibson, and they were pretty dismissive. I spoke to Thomann who asked for a video, had quite a drawn out process of them discussing warranty issues with Gibson, etc, and eventually said they would replace the bridge when the claim went through Gibson and warned it could take a long time.
Two months later, this arrived in the post today?

I've sent them an email asking them why they sent me this, and await their reply...
Obviously, I just bought a MojoAxe bridge which has been great, but the original bridge and this service/warranty claim has been poor, imho. It's consistent with Thomann, they speak nicely and do very little. As far as Gibson go, being outside the US, they offer me zero support and just tell me to go through the local distributor.
At $1800 for the guitar, I just expect the bridge on the guitar to be decent; might one even expect functional?
