These were the king of the day in 1972 Trident... The 3 cylinder 2 stroke 750 Kawi. This was the quater mile king.

Mom had a 3 cylinder Suzuki like that

I say no because I dont realy care for eather. I think both are way overrated but each to his own.
I'll take a honda shadow 1100 over a harley any day and an explorer over LP any day. I personally think LP's are ugly and Harley is over priced for what you get. Each to there own I'm not judging that's just my opinion
Oh no you di'n't

I have to tell you Trident, this Yamaha RD350B was a rocket in its class back in 72. As you can see in the video the guy reaches 90 MPH, Top end was about 106mph , I was able to beat guys in quarter milers with 750 Four strokes. It was called the Giant killer of the ages! Motorcyclist Magazine tested the 1974 RD350B It noted in everything , but all out acceleration the Yamaha will probably out perform just about anything on the market in box-stock trim.

Top speed 106mph
Best quarter mile acceleration 14.48 seconds 89.8mph. I wish I never sold the bike and still had it today. It was the most exciting bike I ever had.

I remember riding Mom's Honda 350-4 and thinking that it was really underpowered. Dad's 1965 305cc Scrambler Twin was light years faster.

Then Mom bought the 3 cylinder Suzuki...a 500 or 550 i think...and wow, it was scary fast@@!@!

I been wanting a street bike again, but something retro, yet easy to find parts for. The durability of the KZ1000 (our police department had one) is where i got the idea to build a KZ1000R from a retired police bike.

There are other bikes i would love to have again - like a CBX or a Kawasaki 1300 - but parts are a bit scarce for those models...
