Why Cheap Out on Straplocks:

Poppycock. Never seen it once. That’s a maintenance issue, not from the washer. And I move around A LOT when I play. Hell, they don’t even unscrew the giant modern Gibson strap buttons even with a thick leather strap.
Agreed…my only caveat…I am in the habit of putting a drop of titebond on the threads of my strap pin screws when I first set up my guitars. Been doing that since I was a teenager…from the first time I had one back out on me.
 
I grind the head of my hardware store screws down to fit inside Dunlop strap locks to install on my Gibson guitars.

I install Schallers on my Fender guitars, And have used Grolsch Washers on my Acoustic and ES 135 which I play seated. I have not done anything for my PRS or Jackson V yet since it is still in pieces.
