Where is Sergio?

Ok, Happy New Year update.

I am right now in sunny warm tropical Brazil, in Bermuda shorts and Rainbow sandals, nursing a healthy hangover.

Had a little party with my singer last night, and at the moment I’m poolside, drinking my 4th cup of coffee while I read one of my favorite books... I’m a Hemingway man.

Thanks for the update, Sérgio! Glad to read and see that you are doing well.

Next to your coffee and book, there should be a radio softly and repeatedly playing Julio Iglesias' recording of "Brazil."

baby in the King cake ;)

King cake - Wikipedia

man I miss New Orleans....... I can not find a good Muffuletta sammich here in Crackerville to save my life!

Hey Judas -- is Central Grocery Still there????? used to go there in the late 80's -- had a girlfriend who loved New Orleans-- I guess having your FIRST Muffuletta from the BIRTH place of the NEw Orleans version sorta RUINED all the rest of them ----

Man them things where good......buy one--- then cruise past Cafe Du Monde for a coffee-- and go sit in Jackson Square and "people watch" and eat---- back to the hotel take a "nap" and then hit the main drag after dark ---- man I miss NEw Orleans!

I'm here, guys. Just replied to Robert's thread, I hadn't seen it before.

Sorry for the "ins and outs", it's just that I have been dealing with a lot of stuff lately, stress at the office, family issues, band headaches and such.

Sometimes I can't help but being almost solely active down on TFF because it's probablyh the quietest guitar forum I've ever seen, very few posts and easy to follow through. But I always come back. :)

Checking in, boys... And I think I'm gonna stick around a bit longer this time.

I hope I don't bother y'all by posting here. Sometimes it feels a bit selfish having my own thread and upping it. But I really loved the thread, so, what the hell, right? ;)

I'm kinda depressed. After a handful of good years of gigging, lots of cool road trips, beer, chicks and all that rock and roll, it seems that my band has come to a twilight.

We had been having disagreements regarding repertoire and the general purpose of the band, and it was getting hardr and harder to put our stuff together. Some members just wouldn't do what was planned, and that led to a decrease of quality, all around. The worst part was that we were hired to play at one of the best clubs in town, and due to all the crap that was going on, the gig was pretty much a mess.

Everybody was pissed afterwards, and since then we haven't even practiced together. That's about a month or so. We still talk at the band's WhatsApp group, but it's mainly small talk.

Maybe this cycle has ended, and it's all right. It's just how things are. (I'm a Budhist, and like my old friend George Harrison, I believe that all things must pass). I won't say I'm not sad. I am. But I understand how everything lasts for a while and then ends. Even life.

Since there are no scheduled gigs in sight, I'm just taking my time, taking a break from playing and planning on taking my black strat to a tech job, fret polish and giving it some good old home playing, while I put myself together, digest all this and maybe start some other project. I had been using the Rickenbacker almost exclusively.

Feels good to be here again, guys.

That, Sir, looks fantastic - all power to you.

Best of luck to you Sergio! I know things will work out for you. Don't let those strings on the Strat get too cooled down. Good to hear from you!

Robert, next time you come to the deep South, spare some time to visit Brazil. It's very different from most of South and Central América.

A huge country, almost as big as the US, with different landscapes.

Here's a panoramic view of the seaside in the city where I play guitar:
