Where is every body from

Born and raised in the great Police State of NJ; moved around a lot when young to various working class towns.
Being the new kid in school every year teaches you a lot.

Always thought I would leave, but never did.
Settled in Brick in the 6th grade around 1976.
Brick is 1 town in off the ocean and within 20 min. without traffic to where those morons were on that Jersey Shore show.

Still here.
I like NJ but not the high property taxes, traffic, and cost of living.

Relocated to central Wisconsin in 1974 to a small town named Unity where my Pops was born.
Back to Chicago to find gainful employment in 1978.
Moved to Florida in 1988 in search of sunshine & warmth after my wife's parents retired there.
Found the sunshine & warmth we were looking for.
Even convinced ol' Pops this is where he needed to be too.
Been in this 2 1/2 acre retreat in the woods since 1990, not moving again, ever...

Ahh...another Illinoisan!

When's the last time you were in the state? They have gone all out with wind farms. There are several windfarms along I-55 and I-39 stretching almost from Springfield nearly to Rockford.

I've unfortunately been there for a couple of the last two nasty cold February's.
Once moving Pops down here and last time for a buds 50th Bday.
Both times was below zero & I froze my tookus off.
But yes I did see all the wind farms. My bud is out by Morris.
We took a cruise out by Streator down all the farm roads. It was an impressive sight, as far as you can see.
We did a similar tour at night too, with the red lights all blinking in the distance. Very cool indeed.
 
I'm from a small town of 17,000 an hour's drive north of Vancouver, Canada. I've lived here for 55 years. I've traveled the world and lived as far away as Greece but this will always be my home. It is at the end of a fjord and is surrounded by mountains. I love the outdoors and go for a walk along the Squamish River every morning. This picture is a five minute walk from my house.

I've haven't spent much time in your end of the country either. I do get to Ottawa on business four or five times a year and once every couple of years Montreal but you don't get the feel of a place on business trips. I'd really like to visit Quebec City sometime.
 
Dr B. When I was a 14 year old boy, my stepdad and my mom and sis all went from East Coast US in our car to BC Canada.
If you can, do yourself a favor and get to BC. It is beautiful and I am sure Kerry and Shreddy can tell you more of the good stuff there.

I've never been to the Maritimes either. Looks like a pretty part of Canada.

The furthest east I have been is Montreal and that was when I was a kid. My Dad drove truck so I would sometimes go with him.

I have seen quite a few loading docks from East St. Louis to New York State!

I would love to be able to see Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. New Brunswick looks nice as well.

I can vouch for Kerry that Squamish is beautiful. Went hiking and camping in that area many times when I lived on the coast. Awe inspiring part of the country.
 
Born in South Bend, IN, grew up in Jonesboro, AR. Moved to Nashville for graduate school, then to Batavia, IL for my research. Dropped out of grad school and moved to Chicago, then finally moved out to Johnsburg (actually unincorporated McHenry township) to spawn.

If you come all the way, don't overlook the Maggies. Look them up in the Gulf of St-Lawrence in Google Earth.

I was borned and raised in a city called Oshawa...east of Toronto, Ontario not too far. Oshawa is an old city that used to have streetcars backs in the early 1900's. Its main industry is General Motors. Our junior hockey team is called the Oshawa Generals who play at the GM Centre. Here's a picture of the historic hotel called the 'Genosha' hotel. I grew up just a few blocks away from here.

Here are some old photos of downtown Oshawa back in the day. Oshawa is also known as the 'Durty Shwa'. A name that stuck for decades.

I was born and raised in the Philadelphia Pennsylvania area of the USA. Many of the names of the towns and rivers around here have a Native American derivation. After all, the whole country was stolen from them.

Here's a pic of the Oshawa Generals new home. They supposed to have a new state-of-the art scoreboard which I haven't seen yet. I've been to a few games there in the past. We also have a basketball team now that plays in the same venue. A few good concerts were also played here including Elton John and KISS.
